Same here, my hopes pretty much lie in this, Camelot Unchained, Shroud of the Avatar, and Project Gorgon. It sucks, but everyone wants to be WoW. These are the only games I know of going in a different direction.

I'm probably going to get it, but the quests and what not that I've played so far were kind of boring. I guess that could be because I'm still in the newbie areas, hopefully they get better. The big question is if the raid content is any good, or even if there is raid content... Will it be...

Brad should talk to the Project Gorgon guys. They're also making an old school MMO, though they have a bit to show for it. Just had a big graphics upgrade actually. And I think anyone can try out the pre-alpha now. If I remember right, they're actually old programmers from Asheron's Call.

I wonder why they didn't opt to use the Hero Engine or something? Unity is good, but I've always heard it was hard to make an MMO in Unity. Hero Engine + Storybricks would make things pretty easy I'd imagine.

Those screenshots are pretty rough looking. Is it the limitations of Unity, or just because it's early?

Eh, I think levels should be done away with completely. Make a new character, twink it all you want, so long as you know how to play it.

That castle is pretty massive looking in the OP. I don't want another town like New Targonor where it's huge, but empty and unfinished. I'd rather they stay within do-able means, and not good full retard. I want to believe, but I've been burned so many times.

So, just started playing this. Do I have to spend a lot to actually be decent at it? Leveled Jaina or however her name is spelled to 10, probably going to start to the Paladin guy next. Any tips? Whats the best way to get packs?

If they were smart, they'd invite the bigger ones closer to release. Right now it'd be kind of pointless.

I think because you could get items for your house and what not. Displaying your collection items was the shit. Since Wildstar has housing, this would work really well in Wildstar.

Only thing I don't like about the quests so far is that they treat you like you're the hero. I always just liked being some guy helping the actual game's heroes out, not THE hero. You can't be THE hero in a theme park MMO. I do like the quests where I contribute resources to get stuff built...

Friend of mine got in. Gonna let me give it a whirl today. He said the tutorial area was kind of meh, but it starts to pick up some when you get to Nexus. Also read on reddit that there will be 17 raids at launch? Wow.
