The fact that they haven't allowed you to see it doesn't mean it doesn't exist. I'd heard about a group that visited the offices of the dev team and got to see an area that the PTS players didn't get to see, but I didn't take that as proof of anything either. Since then we've come to know of it...

AoE CC is in, as is cleansing/purging debuffs. I haven't noticed any resist spells or abilities aside from Immovable, which makes you immune to CC for some amount of time I can't recall exactly. AoE damage is readily available and there are group and individual speed increasing buffs/abilities...

Heh, the guy poisoning people so he could have them "quarantined" in a cave where his vampire son was feeding on/killing them. I liked that quest. I actually didn't start it near a bridge my first time through. I just walked into the barn where he was poisoning people and it started.

If you try to get through any areas via questing I'd be interested in hearing how you think the speeds in leveling differ between questing and grinding.

I don't recall Oblivion too well but the compass and points of interest in TESO work identically to how they work in Skyrim. There are already ~*true Elder Scrolls fans*~ mad that this game isn't as much like the single-player games as they'd like.

I believe general consensus is that the Aldmeri Dominion has the best starting experience, which is practically all we're limited to in these weekend tests that isn't Cyrodiil. It might interest you, if you have the time, to try more than one faction, otherwise I think AD is the safest bet.

Not in the slightest. The only thing the Deadlock add-on does it make it so you don't have to hold the right mouse button down all the time. It doesn't change abilities that require a target to function or change the damage is calculated.

I think their "yes we're going to have an open beta" switched to "we're not going to have atraditionalopen beta" when the game got an M rating. Now, in order to make an account on the site to enter a beta key, you have to pass an age gate.

Wow that's... interesting. Once upon a time this game had my attention until it announced one of the strangest payment models I'd ever heard of. I can't recall details, I'll have to google it. I follow their Twitter account only to see if it'll ever actually make it to this hemisphere.

Because everything aside from combat (and portions of the combat, like the RNG of damage done) was massively shitacular. Edit: Which is not the case with Wildstar though. I played the beta for weeks and found loads of stuff to like... but none of it made the combat any fun for me.
