    Your Own Photography

Hats off to everyone who shared awesome photos in this thread. I like to photograph people; drinking, dancing, laughing, performing, etc. Also tattoos! I haven't actually taken pictures in a while, but I'll be at PAX East in April so that should change.

Without the Essence Drain passive? While watchingthis guy play with a Resto staffI didn't notice either the Light or Heavy Attack heal him at all. If it only healed peopleotherthan the staff wielder it'd be the only heal that does that.

They're a weapon, they do damage. I've never seen them heal anything.

To be fair I'd only say it isn't fun when healing in Cyrodiil, due to the fact you can't actually aim healing abilities. There are PBAoE heals that emanate from your character, AoE heals for which you choose an area with your mouse, and "smart" heals that affect anywhere from 1 to 3 or so...

I think you're talking about a Mages' Guild quest that sends you to the Shivering Isles to retrieve some books held by Sheogorath and you have to fight a clannfear he calls "puppy." I liked that quest. See a lot of people on this forum will agree with that, but then there are these people...

Elder Scrolls Online Interviews: Brian Wheeler Talks PvP and 'Darkness Falls' MMORPG: Do you have any systems in place to deal with ?gaming? the Alliance War? E.g. trading or flipping keeps, Alliance Point farming, etc. Brian Wheeler: For that, it hearkens back to some older mentalities...

Picture translation: putting points in anything but health is kinda pointless as hitting at least the soft caps is easily done with gear, enchants, passives and stuff.

... how moddable the games are. Bethesda Softworks shipped a buggy, ugly game IMO. The modding community turned it into an often fun, beautiful game. ZOS would do well by this game by at least releasing a high-res texture pack or allowing the community to make one. Edit: TBH though, I...

I don't think their combat systems are similar in almost any aspect.

I'm currently curious as to what people expected when they thought of TESO. Something like the Myst series, but multiplayer? 'Cause I could never imagine something actually like Skyrim being an MMO. You can't grant a million people that kind of freedom at once... right? One day gaming sites will...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

The beta weekend campaigns were ~2 days. They can change the lengths to whatever they want I figure. It remains to be seen how quickly they'll react if/when they see something isn't working out right, in regards to campaign length or anything else.

Wildstar Launch Thread - Server: Stormtalon | Faction: Dominion

Sure it does; it has two in fact. 1. Defeat the other faction to claim Nexus. 2. Find out what happened to the Eldan.

Has there been an M-rated MMO whose only form of payment is micro-transactions? (I don't use "free to play" anymore. It's a total misnomer.)

Before November of last year I was looking forward to Wildstar very much and TESO wasn't even on my "maybe" list, which is the complete opposite of how I feel now. I have beta access to Wildstar, I have for several weeks, and I'll probably have it until the game does open beta while others get...

This is how I could best describe some of my observations on Reddit. re: Targetting- I don't think it's "broken," just inherently flawed to account for latency and porting to consoles. re: First-person perspective- The only thing the single-player ES games have over TESO in terms of...

Ina video released todaysomeone from ShoddyCast mentions nameplates being useful in PvP but wishing the game allowed for automatic disabling when switching to PvE areas. It sounds like the closed beta/release client candidate has it available in some form.

I am constantly confused by statements like these... surprise that PvE isn't great. I've only played Oblivion and Skyrim but I've always felt that combat was shit in this series. At least in TESO I have a hotbar with multiple spells/abilities on it that I can use without awkward/frustrating...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

That wasn't true for my time playing. I managed to roll-dodge away from players' and NPC's attacks and abilities. One thing I've seen mentioned, that made some of my fights make more sense after the fact, was that blocking is not positional. Holding your right mouse button blocks any attack from...
