    The Elder Scrolls Online

I was an early closed beta guy in Wildstar and I liked it. I actually did a ton of feedback on the game because I thought they were making a good solid game. At some point (about November last year) I just couldn't take the cartoony graphics any more. The telegraph action combat system is...

Interested yes, but I do hate the cartooness of the graphics. They are less horrible than Wildstar though.

Cartoon humpery! I swear, I really liked Wildstar I just HATED those Saturday morning cartoon humping graphics so damn much.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Screw cartoon graphics I hate them.If I wanted to hump a cartoon I'd pick Jessica Rabbit. Cartoon graphics suck. It's the sole reason I am not playing Wildstar.

Wait... I thought that was wrong... I thought you could not see your enemy's long term buffs.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Seriously. It was a great launch as long as you learned to never log out.

We all know what they are going to be... they are going to be kill the mobs fast as they get shot at you from the mob gun - just like every trial event ever. Gonna make some people cry now: Luclin RING OF FIRE

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Ugh...they really do sound so fucking lame. Like the shittiest implementation of the classic group challenge in the history of MMOs. Leaderboards? Are they high?

    The Elder Scrolls Online

My no source tells me that they had a 76% increase in sales.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

You cannot imply anything from pre-orders decreasing after the initial rush died down.
  15. D

    The Elder Scrolls Online

It's not an MMO in any traditional sense and there is no massive communal space.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

25% less than there were this time last year when the number was zero?

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Meh, they'll fix it as they go. It'll end up like every other new MMO tech and need some time to break in. Point is, it's an interesting and ambitious new approach. I'm sure I'll be railing against how broken it makes the first week but the longer view is promising.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Easy Captain Jaded. Megaserver tech has never been done before and as the initial rush dies down, it's going to mean anyone can play with their friends and guild at any time and not have to worry about what server they are one. Try not to be the guy that does the whole "oh yes, me and mah...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

It's not that bad. I am critical because they have made some really dumb decisions and pretty clearly the game is coming out too soon but it's kinda fun and the PvP was great in the beta. If you can stand the typical release crashing and queues stuff you will have a decent time.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Think of how much value downlevelling and playing with your friends alts has given GW2. It's a crazy decision. Encouraging alts is like adding free longevity to a game.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

You better get it to lock you name or else Blackwulf's gonna make characters with pornographic versions of your name and then hump dogs and NPCs for hours at a time while zoneshouting "I AM UTNAYAN THE HUMP KING!"

    The Elder Scrolls Online

It's relevant only to the failure of youngins to know their MMO history. Kids these days... /shakes fist. Also, auction houses are really hard to do well apparently. Arenet posted something about it at the beginning of GW2 when they were having so much trouble. Arena net's cross server...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

People want auction houses, raids, quests, gathering skills, crafting skills, cross class dependencies, easy travel, PvP in head to head style and in larger zone filled style etc. What I find funny is that everyone says "I wand X like WoW" and WoW invented none of those game systems.

Are the bots reading the incoming and outgoing game packets for certain types of info? How do they do that?
  27. D

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Yeah the real census is what happened in the beta.... Aldmeri Dominion was by far the most popular of the three factions.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Oh and on Mega Server Overflow... overflows work fine in GW2 now (they were pretty kludgy at launch). What is scary about them in ESO is that they are being progammed a month before release. This is some pretty fundamental database programming that is going to require good structures between...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Funny thing is... post release, the subreddit will swing the other way if GW2 is any example. Reddit mods are always saying "don't downvote just because you disagree or upvote because you agree" but that is exactly what happens.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

I am always kind of amazed at how good WoW bots are. Most of those babies are detecting graphics changes and responding. Pixel triggering is kinda cool. I have seen them log off if you mess with them. Some have basic chat routines to mimic player behavior. When I played MUDs, writing a well...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Good post. I'd add that a lot of this verbiage predates MMOs and goes to MUDS. Scripts that fully automate character behavior so you can completely walk away from the screen create bots. Bots are characters whose behaviour is completely controlled by a script. Macros execute a command or...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

I played and raided then. Not sure what you mean by being able to have situational awareness. I am running through encounters in my head and they generally required movement and saying out of ground aoes. Decursive helped with that (cleansing idiots that stood in crap) but you'd still wipe if...

Heheh So true. However, all good healers are control freaks. Losing control over your healing and not being able to see what you should be doing will be tough.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

I healed in a raid guild through Wrath. Healing mods made healing much more doable in 25 man raids and god I wish Healbot, Decursive and Deadly Boss Mob functionality was built into every game. I dread any kind of healing that I cannot use mousover and macroing up my mouse to different heals...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

That is sort of what I understood. When you can pull straight from the game data then you can build reactive macros. If you cannot pull the data as it flows then your macros are harder to make autoreactive to game events. I am not some polyanna fanbois but I hope that they realize they have...

    The Elder Scrolls Online

Basically, I am going to play so it's worth it to play first. Getting to play first and whatever tchotchkies they throw at me are worth it. Not sure what there is to understand. It's not a lot of money and I do not want to wait.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

So basically half the game is just going to be crap in your opinion? Wow. Thanks for telling us before now that there would be no Adventure Zones at release.

    The Elder Scrolls Online

There was an article in December quoting an interview with devs saying that they would be in at launch. They then did a press release kind of reveal about them in January or February and never said they would be after release. It's fairly unusual to have zero post leveling PvE content in an...
