    The Last of Us

I finally got my first console in forever and played TLOU Remastered. I really enjoyed the story and character development. I haven’t actually looked at the leaks, but I know the gist of them and it’s supremely frustrating to think about because the trailers do look really good. But the leaks...

    The Official Guitar Thread

Figured I would make my first entry into this thread. I've been a tinkerer on the guitar for 20 years now, but I take long( like years) breaks and have never had formal instruction, so I am still very much a beginner. I rarely learn full songs and mostly just play riffs that I like, but I want...

    Altered Carbon

I binged season two and was a bit underwhelmed. I actually liked season 1 quite a bit and thought Joel Kinnamon brought more to the character than Anthony Mackie. In season one, I got a better sense of Kovacs' melancholy/sadness over what he lost those centuries past. He seemed to have some...

    The Magicians

Last episode was pretty solid. I wonder if Alice sent Quentin back to that moment just so he'd have sex with past her and maybe remember who cool she could be...or if it was a timing coincidence. It would have been pretty funny if she was banging Quentin from the past at the same moment...

    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

I quite enjoyed the Vanguard rogues until you hit level 51-55. They had a rogue only poison crafting system that gave some utility outside of just damage. For class specific flavor, you could craft darts with a variety of effects to take on the role of crowd control, slower or whatever. You also...

    RIP Mr Hawking

I must be a glutton for punishment to even respond to this, but this post reveals a very common error (or intentional misrepresentation) of people arguing against science. Outside of closed didactic systems such as math, the word proof doesn't even really apply. No scientific theory will be...

I don't remember if there was a time that crafted was the best gear in the game, but the Ancient Port Warehouse dungeon had raid dropped recipes, harvestable raid mobs for skins etc.., and the items crafted from those recipes and mats were really good. There were also master crafting components...

Vanguard - I don't give a fuck if it's dead, It's still brown as fuck (Download link in 1st post)

We do have a guy rebuilding Mekalia. He has been creating npcs and placing them to try and bring that city back to life. I think we have some data on the quests that existed there as well.

We have a great content team putting in adventuring quests, diplomacy quests, and performing spawn clean ups daily. I know Isle of Dawn has its quests built in both of those spheres. The content team has been working on all the starter areas as well and new stuff is implemented daily. Xinux...

I donated at the $375 level years ago and one of the perks was a $1 / year sub fee for life. It comes with other perks too, but that was the most important to me and why I gave more than I initially would have.

What IP would make a great MMO?

Solid series. Half the playerbase would be magic dance fighting though! The other half would be badass Tattooed warriors. But it would be neat to have a whole expansion to be to get out of the maze. You could enter it whenever you wanted, but you couldn't leave without finishing it! The...

Everquest - Agnarr Server: Sunset Mode

I support a Flat Norrath Theory. Any planet that I can run from one side to the other in at most 2 hours (being generous) is probably less than 26 miles (also assuming I am kenyan long distance runner). Such curvature would be visible even on land.

John Smedley hired by Amazon to produce MMOs

I was one of those people that had a great time in Vanguard. I was in beta 2 when new players started in Brennan's Stead and found it boring as hell. Everquest - Agnarr Server: Sunset Mode

My post was nothing towards you, just found it a little unreasonable that guy chose the option for a possible nazi reference over the the very obvious literal meaning of the word. Where's a Dr. Evil "Homonym" meme when you need it?

Everquest - Agnarr Server: Sunset Mode

It's still pretty dumb for that guy to suggest it might be a Nazi reference when its already an actual word with an actual meaning that makes sense to use given that he was a warrior. A class built around generating anger/threat in their opponents.

Thanks for the tip. I had originally chosen cleric, because I actually enjoyed cleric as a possible main and if I didn't like the paladin I could just switch to the cleric. My intention wasn't to use that as good duo per se, but more to form the core of a group. Just invite some dps and good to...

My summer timeline may be optimistic and again its just for abilities being scripted and combat mechanics being reasonable. The content development takes far longer and will lag behind that considerably. Some zones will have their quests done, but most will not have even been touched by that point.

I believe the plan once the game is really playable or close enough is release server packs so people can run their own. But yes, if you want to wait until its 100%, its going to be a little while. Only so many hours in the day, after all. Hopefully we will have all abilities scripted and...

This is where I disagree a bit. In my opinion, mentoring only helps grouping by expanding the possible pool of groupmates. Yeah, I wasn't really on board with that. I had no issue with how EQ handled it. You could sit to mem a new spell but sometimes you'd get sitting agro and get smacked in the face. While it may not be a popular stance here, I liked Vanguard's method of handling raiding. All mobs were open world, but killing it got you a lockout timer, so you could only kill it every 2-6 days. Raid mobs would respawn after a few hours and another group could try it. Basically the same...

I could be wrong, but I don't think that was a bug. Certain mob types were "strong" to certain spell types. Damage of that type would turn into a heal. In UO, it was really annoying for sure. Vanguard had non-instanced housing too, but it was only in certain designated areas. Some were more desirable then others, and it was possible not to be able to find a spot since it was limited availability.
