Tried Napolean: Total War a few weeks back after a summer sale and I couldn't get into it, I've never played a total war (played thousands of hours of Civilization series though) and I couldn't figure out the controls/concept. Didn't try too hard but I expected it to be more polished and was...

    Tropico 5

Well, this came out today. It's buggy as shit for me. The tutorial didn't work, got stuck at 3rd task, but whatever I didn't need it. But the road tool is totally messed up, I can't select out of it without pressing escape. It doesn't feel polished.

    Gotham

'Gotham' showrunner breaks silence, answers burning questions | Inside TV | EW.com Guy writing this was the guy who did Rome, my favourite show, which is enough for me to give this a glance, even if it's airing on Fox. They talk a lot about how this show is mostly about Gordon and the...

    Batman: Arkham Origins

Finished this game today. It was a solid enough of a game, but in my mind a definite step below the other 2 Batman games, which were exceptional from start to finish imo. the game just seemed a bit like a cheap knock off, with nothing really new brought to the game and a lot of things literal...

    The Grand Budapest Hotel

Took the lady to see this and we both loved it. His movies are so engrossing, you're just lost in them - in a good way. Such excellent characterization, pacing, and humor. Would recommend.

    Civilization V: Brave New World

I've played a ton of Civ5 since G&K. Haven't gotten a good grasp on the new expansion yet but so far I've enjoyed it. If you were turned off of Civ5 vanilla, but usually like Civ games, definitely give G&K a try (and Brave New World too, might as well). So far trade routes are interesting...

I wouldn't be surprised if they drop Civ5 pretty low to entice ppl to pick up the new expansion pack. Which, btw, I'm really liking so far.

A Song of Ice and Fire (Released Spoilers)

Slightly offtopic: Has anyone read the Dunk and Egg novels/prequels/shortstories? Are they strictly graphic novels or can I get a paperback version? Is it part of some other short story compilation? What should I order?

GoT - Is Over, Post Your Drogon Sightings

I'm guessing they won't try to hide it much, and they'll likely even replay the season 1 scene of him quitting court in the episode preview/last time on Game of Thrones!(does GoT do those? I don't even remember). Honestly I can't even remember what he looks like on the show he was on there so...

House of Blues - Offical Thread of the Blues

I saw BB King 2 weeks ago. He's 87 and his voice was still amazing. His band carries the song and he just interjects when he feels like it. He basically hit on every woman in the audience as well, and then signed autographs and handed out picks for 30 minutes after the show. His handlers had...

    Age of Empires II HD

I was pretty hardcore into AOE1 trying to get my bronze age times as low as possible. I was in a few guilds back in the day, pre-EQ. You're right, most of those games were done in stone or bronze age, with clubmen or chariot archers. The most fun I ever had on AOE2 was when I'd play 8 person...

G&K added religion, spying, and a bunch of balancing. The same still has one unit per tile, so if you can't get over that, you still may not like the game. They changed combat a bit, like in that they got rid of the 10 hp per unit and allowed units to cycle in and out more. I find combat much...

+1. Totally addicted to Civ again after I got the expansion last time it was on sale. Just spend a couple bucks on the DLC's, when there's a sale it's hard to say no to a couple more civs/wonders for a dollar or two. Noticed the RPG Maker was on sale. Anyone ever tried it? Curious how easy...

I'm self taught and never got around to using a pick. I mostly play blues and a lot of folk/fingerpicking type stuff but was too impatient to sit down and learn. I'm the only guitarist I know somehow so I never had anyone to bounce ideas off of. Now I'm kind of regretting never learning as...

NHL 2012-13 - Half Season Thread

Canucks are in mid-season form with already 2 injuries to our 2nd line! Awesome. Booth and Kesler out for 4-6 weeks at least is pretty scary. And I was already scared of what will happen this season based on the fact it seems to take the Canucks 1.5 months to get going. I think there are...

Love those classic tracks. I find when I'm jamming I usually throw on those raw ones as it's easier to carve out your own voice when you're only up against a tinny acoustical track/vocals. Some more! Eva Cassidy - known more for her Somewhere Over the Rainbow cover, and similar ballads...
