If Scorpio is running a true Windows OS and can run Steam then I'd see it being a great beefy HTPC, but we all know it won't.

Meh on the EA presentation. The Co-Op jailbreak game was the only interesting thing.

Haven't had any issue using it portable with the joycons attached, but yeah fuck using them singly for any length of time. You can kind of use one in each hand like the old Wiimote+Nunchuk if you want to relax on the couch.

Yeah seems like both US and Japan getting some big Switch shipments this weekend to gear up for ARMs. Supposed GameStop leak is Mario Odyssey releases November 17 (obviously the game is launching before Black Friday), and Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is Feb 2018.

If ARMs sells well, it won't get cheaper until it's a Nintendo Select, so years basically.

Because Dirk is a gravitational force on the court and everyone else benefits. JJ Barea's entire career is built off Dirk. Problem is they ran into the perfect counter for Dirk (at the time) and the coach who knew best what Dirk's weakness was.

There's no proof out there that Nintendo is practicing artificial scarcity for their consoles/handhelds. They are just very conservative after a failure (namely Gamecube and Wii U). They had over 3 million consoles available at launch worldwide which was actually a pretty good amount if you...

I don't think CoD would be that far fetched - Wii U had Blops2 and there is a credible rumor out there of WW2 getting a Switch version - on the Call of Duty website you can even sign up with a NNID. Overwatch seems far fetched though after Blizzard's statement last month. I'm sure the Switch...

Nintendo hasn't thought of themselves competing with MS/Sony since the Wii, that was the whole point of the machine. Blue ocean and all that. Also comparing Japanese numbers in 2017 for the Switch and the Wii 11 years ago is dumb. The console market in Japan has seriously declined since then -...

Where can you find them on Amazon in Europe? Both UK and DE versions of Amazon are always sold out, or continuously say "Temporarily unavailable for 1-2 months". They show up infrequently for hours on Amazon in Europe just like they do here in the US. Nintendo Switch Konsole Neon-Rot/Neon-Blau...

They had a 35 minute Direct in April that announced ~28 games, with no talking/reaction in between each. The bulk of Nintendo E3 discussion is during the Treehouse Live streams so the Direct should be just straight announcements front to back. There may not even be Metroid anymore, it's not a...

They seem to be running into component issues, namely LCD screens and NAND flash memory, preventing them from ramping up beyond what they are currently able to get made. Their main supplier of LCDs (Japan Display Inc.) is also one of the major suppliers for Apple, and you can't win vs Apple when...

Charm isn't that great in Velious and Luclin, but it gets better again in PoP. It was incredibly OP on Phinigel in Classic/Kunark though. Really same as P99.

There's nothing to defend. The Switch could use a Pokemon game, but it wasn't going to come at the expense of the 3DS this early in it's life. At best we would have gotten a port of the game, but it was never going to be exclusive Switch game like the Eurogamer leak said - too much money to be...

Disappointing but not unexpected. GameFreak has never released right away on new hardware, especially not the 3rd entry of a series - they just aren't going to pass up the current 70 million install base. There's also the fact that Nintendo already cant meet demand on the Switch so any Pokemon...

Nintendo isn't really involved in Magikarp Jump - The Pokemon Company licensed the IP out to a mobile developer, and TPC gets most the revenue. Same for the other (except Pokemon Go) Pokemon mobile games.

Are you sure it doesn't have Bluetooth? I thought I saw an adapter for it or something on Amazon. That Hori setup looks shitty though. MHXX hasn't been localized for the West yet so unless you imported you haven't played it in the US. I'm not sure if this version coming to the West will preclude the 3DS version coming - Nintendo generally helps financially with the Western releases so it might be up to them. Don't think there...

Not really a fighter game guy, but had a lot of fun with ARMS just now with the first Global Test. No lag/disconnects, sweet lobby system. I think the motion controls will end up being the best way to play. The traditional controls are fine/functional but motion control was a bit more...

Wouldn't make much sense financially. MH on consoles has always sold poorly, and Japan is predominantly a handheld market - MH's sales are due to it being portable. It also has sold poorly in the West, where consoles are the dominant way to play games. It's more likely for MH5 to be a...

Console Monster Hunter, fuck yeah! I didn't expect XX to be the first MH game on the Switch though. I assume this means MH5 is in development for the Switch and they just wanted to test a low risk port of a past gen game.

Everquest - Agnarr Server: Sunset Mode

Depends on the expansion. Classic and Kunark there is plenty of stuff to charm on raids that do more DPS than anyone else in your raid. Enchanters are broken early on. Both Velious and Luclin there is nothing to charm in raid zones, outside of some lower level giants in Kael. Temple of Veeshan...

Not being able to backup data is the only feature egregiously missing on the Switch. I don't need a browser or Netflix on a 10th device, but backups are critical. Virtual Console is not a required feature at launch. Of the 3 devices that have had it, two of them launched without it - and now the fourth. They are also the only company offering a service like it, so it's not like it's the norm. Comparing it to windshield wipers on a car is idiotic - it...

It's just speculation. Nintendo has only released concrete numbers for March (2.74 million worldwide). In April it sold 280k in US and 210k in Japan - but there isn't tracked data for Europe/South America/everywhere else. Few threads on NeoGaf estimate April as 750k. It's still selling out in...

That article is from the literal first week of it being on sale. Nintendo Switch (previously NX)

That's a bad analogy. What people are displaying with game/software boxes is the box itself, not the software inside it. The game itself is immaterial - it's bits of digital data. These people have the game digitally on their Switch already, what they want is something to show they own it...

I'm not sure what the issue is. It's a collectible for people who want to order digital. Splatoon is a very merchandise heavy brand in Japan where it's hugely popular. People would rather have digital because Switch is portable, but still want the case to display with their collectibles. There...
