When Evil Lurks. 10/10. Scariest movie I've seen in a long time. No CGI all practical effects. It's on Shudder but can probably rent it on Amazon or something. Well worth the 5 bucks a month for Shudder.
Apparently Disney is notorious for rewriting/changing movies as they go. I know they did it with lots of Marvel ones. They probably changed lots of Star Wars for the worst as they went.
I always expected blood girl to advance enough to explode people or halt their blood flow for heart attacks. Otherwise what's the point of blood abilities.
I'm more interested in Phillip Corso and his book. Probably been debunked but I don't really follow this stuff anymore and have not for a long time. Same chief that turned me onto this book also turned me onto the USS Liberty scandal.
Just give me smart well written characters that either die despite making good choices or end up surviving because of them. Hell give me smart colonial marines action too. That's all I need. Don't reinvent the wheel.
I'd like to see them do a solid rogue trader series and more Inquisitor stories.
Plus they should be pushing stuff in further detail than the reference books like the Emperor waking up, Promarchs coming back, destroying some hive fleets, more space dwarf shit because they are awesome.
There is some really good stuff on this list. Notable mentions for me House of the Devil, Pontypool, Triangle, Lake Mungo, The Innkeepers, Take Shelter, John Dies at the End.
Watched Dark Harvest last night. Available for rent or purchase on Amazon. I ended up buying it. Really enjoyable. Solid 7 or 8 out of 10 for me. Different take on these kinds of stories.
Last Voyage is pretty good. The setting and atmosphere is solid. As a former sailor I really enjoyed the setting and attention to detail. The scares were solid and they didn't try to do anything retarded with the ending.
