that's what i mean. in 5e you are supposed to be able to sneak attack once on your turn, and then once more as a reaction. it doesn't matter WHEN the reaction happens, it won't interfere with the limit on sneak attacks, so if you somehow end up making an opportunity attack on your turn, you...
it straight up breaks the game. if you multiclass a monk thief you can get like 8 attacks per round. rogues in bg3 also got the shaft because they are supposed to be able to sneak attack when they make opportunity attacks, so it's common for rogues to pick up sentinel. my swashbuckler (favorite...
I have two irl games going concurrently. I one of them I'm a storm sorc 9/tempest cleric 2. this past week we were fighting this giant chimera where I cast chain lightning and as I used destructive wrath to max the damage (8d10) the DM goes, your about to max the damage since I failed my save...
charisma is traditionally a dump stat, right next to intelligence, excepting for those classes that use them for casting. charisma is generally only as powerful as you or your dm are creative. it's a stat that is ALWAYS handled backwards. let's say you want to attack the goblin, so you roll a...
no, i had this exact conversation when i created the character. i was expecting a minor amount of push back from the DM, but it was a one shot so rules were pretty loosey goosey, but he immediately was like, "i love it" and i didn't have to convince him it would work
all casters can use either a component pouch or a focus (wand, staff, orb, etc). if you're using a focus then it negates any component that doesn't have a specifically mentioned gold cost (revivify requires diamonds worth 300gp, which is then consumed by the spell). most combat spells don't...
sorcerers use charisma, not intelligence. sorcerers don't "learn" magic, they innately know it. it'd be like wondering how a dog is able to differentiate creatures by smell. on paper that sounds like it would require some decent intelligence, but even for smart dogs, i wouldn't give them an...
i don't know... i've always looked at it as character is what makes someone special, not race. which means you can be the most exotic race in the game and not be special. which also means that you should be able to pick whatever race you want. we are playing adventurers, which are extremely...
i'm torn on this because on one hand, i'm not into blaming the consumer. developers need to work harder on being competent. on the other hand, it's early access and people are giving reviews that say things like "i'm working with steam to get this game delisted because i took time off of work to...
a quick look around seemingly confirmed a suspicion i was having about it. it looks like cull the weak will currently only trigger from the MAIN damage of an attack. so the extra elemental damage that karlach is doing doesn't trigger it. i mean, i assume the elemental damage is added damage from...
look, i'm all for people being more open and honest about themselves... but... good lord, man, it's okay to hide your faults.
picture only tangentially related
"flop" is, i think, too simplified a term for it. it was critically adored, but had the lowest ratings, i believe. so hardly anyone watched it, but most everyone who did really enjoyed it
there actually IS a use for those mind jars! you won't miss anything essential from not having them, but there is a place where you can use them to fill in some lore
wtf is this video? it's a countdown for the livestream, but doesn't include the livestream. i HATE when people upload stuff to youtube but don't edit out the countdown, so this is triggering me something awful
i'd try karmic dice, that might help you out. also note that there's no such thing as 100% chance for something because rolling a natural 1 is always an autofail, and a natural 20 is always an auto succeed, so the highest hit chance you can get is 95%. but there's also feats and class abilities...
the only bug i've had (and i've had it a few times) is sometimes when selecting someone else in my party their ui is completely missing with just "space bar to skip" showing up at the bottom. when it happens it's just the one character and switching to someone else brings their ui up, but the...
i was able to tell them both to stop fighting and didn't lose any rapport with either of them. the next morning they were basically like, "we got it out of our system so don't worry about that happening again"
i actually really liked dracula untold, almost in spite of itself, though. there were certain things that were really interesting; taking the idea of why vlad the impaler was considered a national hero instead of just focusing on him being a scary monster. but then there were things that were...
i grew up in the church, not catholic, but i went to christian jr high and high school and then bible college for a couple years before i ended up seeing all the awful politics involved in church leadership, so i'm with you 100% on the atmosphere, you know what i mean? and i generally agree with...
keep us informed. this is one of those games that i REEEAAAALLLY want to be great, and it should be easy for it to be great, except the reality of it is that i can't see how it won't be trash
that's pretty common. when kids are forced into strict conservative atmosphere's they tend to fly off the handle as soon as they are out of that atmosphere. same thing with pastor's kids. it takes A LOT of work to make sure that they don't lose their minds just out of sheer revolt. and honestly...
you don't make magic missile better. it already has what makes it most useful, that it never misses. there are items sprinkled throughout the game that add things here and there. one item adds an extra missile, several add a couple points of lightning damage or acid damage or whathaveyou. none...
well, like i said, MY dm creates all his stuff. even when we did curse of strahd it was HEAVILY edited. but there are PLENTY of people who are dm's not because they want to create their own stuff, they just want to play dnd and no one else will dm.
and even if you ARE running your own stuff...
yeah, i haven't really talked to halsin much, but i'm pretty sure i've exhausted his dialogue options. there was a point with wyll in the druid celebration where he was out on the shore moping around. i talked to him but i felt like things were MAYBE sliding towards the "i'd rather be spending...
Yeah, in earlier editions, martial characters were just there to carry casters in early levels just so that at later levels casters could carry martials. I don't even want to say that they were there to distract creatures from going after the squishies, because at a certain point the martials...
I meant to post this earlier but I kept forgetting. I have NO IDEA what you guys are doing to get asterion to be so enamored with you. At the druid celebration he told me that he was looking for some action and then IMMEDIATELY clarified that he was not looking for action with me, and that the...
you SHOULD be able to twin concentration spells as long as they only target 1 creature. so, enlarge/reduce and haste are twinnable.
in tabletop, maybe not bg3, i don't have a sorcerer
People get up in arms about this. There are no gay or straight characters, just characters that are into the main player or not. Your race and gender are 100% irrelevant
In 5e, multi classing starts to work against you much quicker than in previous editions. There is almost never a reason to multiclass more than twice, and even that is rare.
You also can't multiclass subclasses, so you can't do a div2/wizard2. It's just a wizard2 who subclasses into div.
I...
Its also good because you are working with several people's time table. He can't play your tabletop campaign without you guys, you know? I mean he can day dream and build characters and stuff, but the game itself requires a very specific time frame
If you go pact of the blade to get 2 attacks with deepened pact, your pact weapon will use charisma for attacks instead of str or dex. Just have to bind to the weapon after long rest
yeah, there are good wizard subclasses so a lot of people skip out on evocation, but i find it to be the most overall useful. it's even better in bg3 because in tabletop it just causes your allies to automaticaly save, but still take half damage. in bg3 they just outright take no damage.
edit...
i mean just like i said. if your wizard has 16-17 int, at lvl 1 his spell attack will be +5. a fighter at lvl 1 with 16-17 str will have a +5 to his melee attack. if those numbers are the same, then your fighter and your wizard should be hitting roughly equally. for people who are more familiar...
