The Red Letter Media Appreciation Thread

Yeah, when you find out how into star wars they are (were?) You just automatically think they should know plenty of other need culture things, at least, on top of other pop culture things, but they really just ONLY know movies.

    Diablo 4 / IV / IIII / Fore / Cope / Seethe

I think the story of Diablo is good, just not told well. There's some interesting things going on in there, but it's stuff that you have to do homework for

Yeah I was absolutely okay with her being a villain, but I remember thinking she'd be the villain in MoM way before infinity war

    Marvel Universe stuff

I dont have any confirmation for this, but I SWEAR that Wanda was supposed to be in MoM since they named it that, which was like 5 years ago or something. I very much remember feeling like it would be the perfect time for her to be a villain and I know I read an article somewhere suggesting...

    Fast X (2023)

That's really the ONLY genre it can be compared to. Just because they aren't wearing CGI suits it doesn't mean it's not a superhero movie

    Diablo 4 / IV / IIII / Fore / Cope / Seethe

Yeah, that's my point. They COULD design it in such a way that the numbers NEVER change, but that doesn't feel good when you get upgrades. So they just decided to let the numbers get higher and higher. We weren't hitting for 30 trillion back when the game released, but they added higher...

    Fast X (2023)

I mean, initially I wanted to make this point as well, but I don't actually think that's his contention. It's not "why do they keep making more of these movies?" but " why do people keep seeing them?" And honestly I don't have an answer... These movies are entertaining and I cannot, for the life...

    Diablo 4 / IV / IIII / Fore / Cope / Seethe

If the gear you pick up each has +1% damage, math dictates that sooner or later you're going to get ridiculous numbers. Thing is, doing 39,896,167 damage and doing 100 damage is exactly equal if it still does 50% of a creature's health. The actual numbers mean absolutely nothing mechanically...

i'm pretty sure she's been trying super hard to improve her image since captain marvel and her awful press release interviews. she hosted jimmy kimmel (though i don't watch talk shows so i didn't pay any attention) and she has/had a youtube channel where she tried super hard to come off as...

    Ahsoka

Episode 2 doesn't clarify whether or not boba knows he's a clone. You could argue he SHOULD know, but it doesn't look like he was exposed to any of the troopers so, at least in episode 2 he legitimately may have no idea. The Mando episode specifically points out that, yes, boba knows he's a...

    Candela Obscura

yeah i watched the 6 minute rules video yesterday just to see what it was about. i got about 2 minutes in when they showed the character sheet and it had a place specifically for pronouns and i just turned the video off. i'll probably watch the actual game on youtube, but i REALLY wish they'd...

    Ahsoka

yes. in one of the episodes of 2nd season of mando, when mando meets bo-katan and her crew, boba is with them and koska reeves (sasha banks/mercedes vernardo) specifically calls him out as a clone in a derogatory way. i don't remember the exact dialogue but they have a little spat that makes it...

deforrest kelly was in an episode, too. don't forget nurse chapel became the voice of the enterprise. spock's father Sarek was in a bunch of episodes. there were PLENTY of original cast members showing up in TNG, generations was a bad movie and really didn't need to happen

Ray Stevenson dead at the age of 58 (Rome, Black Sails, Punisher)

yeah, the difference is that when aragorn broke his toe, he yells out in anger, whereas when nash got stabbed he just stood there smiling. it's not to take anything away from viggo mortenson, dude is an amazing actor, but nash is a beast.

    Indiana Jones 5 (2020)

to counter this, hemsworth has mostly stayed away from projects like that. it's entirely possible that when he signed on to ghostbusters it didn't have nearly the same tone as when they started shooting. at some point you just have to go to work and do your job and leave it at that. and with...

Ray Stevenson dead at the age of 58 (Rome, Black Sails, Punisher)

wrestlers get a lot of hate for being a "fake sport" all the time, but they take A LOT of hurt without whining about it. thomas jane legitimately stabbed kevin nash with that knife and that's the take they used for the movie. there was an issue with the prop master not exchanging the real...

when you're talking about a suit of armor, it's called a bevor. when you're talking about the punisher's high collar it's just part of bomb disposal suit or higher caliber bullet proof vest (still might be called a bevor, i have no idea). gorget's are designed to protect the neck...

    Terminator (2019)

initially, the 1-800's weren't wearing skin, or at least, weren't wearing particularly believable skin. the entire reason for skin was for time travel, as you can't transport inorganic matter unless it's encased in something organic. the t800's were probably bulky when they had skin on...

I know it's gauche on this board to actually offer constructive help, but here goes! I completely understand not wanting to spend time with people that you don't share opinions with, but it's also one of the biggest problems with the human race. We focus on what makes us different and find...

STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor™ (PS5, XSX, Steam, Epic) - early 2023

Blaster parry is good, but there's a force push parry that does the same thing but also hits multiple targets. Blaster stance is good, no doubt, just that single saber is entirely underrated. A lot of the blaster attacks are single target because even with the saber they are mostly stabs, but...

STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor™ (PS5, XSX, Steam, Epic) - early 2023

Single saber probably is the best overall stance as it has a lot of strengths without any weaknesses. You'd think the blaster has the best range, but the air dash attack and the jump heavy attack on the single saber attack are REALLY string abilities that help you close distance really quickly.

    Dungeons & Dragons (2022)

Xenk was the NPC that the DM plays for a short arc. He comes around, kicks butt, dumps some lore, then screws off to do his own thing while the players continue on their quest. It's super subtle, but I thought it was a really nice touch that showed they understood the typical DND campaign
