    Your 2016 Gaming Hype List

XCom2, HoI4, GR: Wildlands (tentative after seeing what Siege/Division have turned into), M&B2: Bannerlord (?), Kingdom Come: Deliverance (?). Not sure I can take any of the posts with Total Whore: Cardgrabber seriously. As a CoH2 player, I feel bad for you guys falling into the same trap.

    Moderator Election 2016 HQ

I think this raises a fair issue over the vacancy that isn't being opened for a new candidate. Sean's overprotective cultivating of the MMO / Other Games forums is something that has left a bit of a vacuum seeing as no mods really ever spend time actually helping people fix threads without...

    Moderator Election 2016 HQ

So I'm not seeing restrictions on going for multiple seats. What happens when everyone's favorite mods claims 4 of the other seats in their reelection bid? Or a desperate usurper plays the market?

    Tom Clancy's The Division

My thinking is unless they have something hidden behind the release/dlc curtain they expect people to consider the Dark Zone the end game and continually farm DZ rank and 'betterer' drops like any other adventure game.

    XCOM 2

Agreed, but I chalked it up to being entertainment and saw it as the "movie version" of guerrilla tactics where the scout says "LOOK at ME" and was thinking it get's counterbalanced by the sheer number of pods/armor mechanics/etc as the game progresses.
  11. Sulrn

    XCOM 2

IRL it's a legit guerilla tactic though. Send the scout out to lure the enemy into an ambush.

    Suicide Squad (2016)

I was staying away from this because none of the info released gave me a good feeling, but that trailer makes it look pretty good. Which is weird considering I'm having the exact opposite reaction to Deadpool. :/

    StarCraft 2

I'm just going to assume you've never played the sequel, which I directly referred to and conclude you have no clue what you're talking about in regards to it's gameplay or engine. However, I will agree with you that the SC2 engine is both simplistic and runs smoothly by design - caveat being...

    Tom Clancy's The Division

Seeing more videos of people complaining about the gunplay being uninspired and repetitive. No one outright saying whether or not the story is worth slugging through means I'm leaving it in the wishlist to drop below 50%. Sadness.

    J49: An Erotic Life

Remember your days in the rack listening to guys jerking it, then think that for every 10, at least one had a story more fucked up than J's.

    Heroes of the Storm

Disagree whole heartedly. Smoothest engine running on simplistic design maybe, but even with as fail as the management of CoH franchise has been. The CoH2 engine (even with as unoptimized as it is) with everything it adds in terms of tactics and strategy gameplay elements is hands down superior...

    Tom Clancy's The Division

You're both right and wrong on the thematic genre issue. It is definitely a contributing factor, but I've also seen it done elsewhere to not be jarring. Aside from ME1-3 (which isn't jarring because of visible armor/shields/barriers), every game that I play with a modern element/firearms...

    Tom Clancy's The Division

The more I watch the more jarring it is to watch someone get shot 10+ times and not go down (especially when most aren't wearing ballistic armor) or to take a shotgun at pointblank and not even stagger. Also not seeing any localized combat modifiers (limping, 1 armed shooting, stunning, etc)...

    Deadpool (2016)

It's real in the sense of advertisement is real. Knowing that she is connected to the comic book industry and internet entertainment media in general makes that look pretty forced and lame. -1 marketing ploy.

    XCOM 2

Finishing up another EW play through and appreciating all rebalancing they threw into the game as a result of the expansion. I felt cheated after finishing EU due to the lack of options and the marketing hype at release and didn't touch any of the DLC or EW for at least a year after it released...

    Tom Clancy's The Division

At E3 it was still a tech demo more than a game. Now that it's a third person RPG/shooter, be happy it even has real game play and supposedly interesting story and planned future content. Would you be wholly content if it it was still struggling for an identity, but didn't sacrifice graphics for...

    Tom Clancy's The Division

I did not play Alpha, no. From everything I hear/see the game is indeed solid - that's not my concern. My concern is that there's going to be a lack of content.

    Vote for moderator(s) 2016?

Sean being a mod was a problem in itself that shouldn't reflect on forum specific modding. Knowing a forum and its regular posters makes for good modding when needed. Having a person with social problems was an admin recruiting mistake.

I'm happy that you're enjoying the game, but based on that post alone you're missing the entire concept/intended draw of the game itself and are inviting others to do the same with a community and design concept horizon that are/will be in direct conflict for your stated draw to the game in a...

I'm honestly surprised that what was essentially a BF2 community project has blossomed into something so awesome and no triple AAA feels threatened even when they're quite obviously behind the power curve on gameplay and creativity.
