I think Exodus is only on NES. It's a pretty rough port and hard to play. Quest of the Avatar is also on NES and is a fantastic port. They made it more like Dragon Warrior and I've seen people say it's a top 20 game on the system. Finally the NES got Ultima 5 as well but it was a completely...
This is a good example of my main issue with JRPGs, how frequently they expect you to find one thing or talk to one person to progress the story. It's fine if it's some magical macguffin in a nearby dungeon that the story is pointing you at; that's normal. The issue is when you're just trying to...
The modern remake project is objectively way, way, way nicer than the original in pretty much every regard. The only places it falls short are narratively and in the area of capturing moods (like having Midgar slums be so damn bright).
They're just imitating EQ, as they've done so much of, and it was time to imitate the Drakkin.
But yeah, I'm really surprised the Ogres were never added as a playable race. Seemed like they were set up for that from the beginning.
After some more choice paralysis I fired up Neverwinter Nights, now playing some of that. Had two seemingly game-ending glitches (i.e. spots where I got trapped because something didn't happen that was supposed to) and I'm only one dungeon in. Definitely a game where you want to do backup saves...
Don't even remember what buffs there were in the game, just that on the Flask of Wondrous Physick I went with Heal Half HP + Regeneration for pretty much all of the game. Use that as your first heal on a boss fight and enjoy the regen for a while.
Margit seemed so tough the first time through...
I'm gonna watch it too one of these days, mainly for the Latina and Sydney. Not that Sydney looks like Sydney or anything but yeah. Speaking of which, uh
What movie is this from, so I can do research? Please not Euphoria, please not Euphoria
Very possibly, but if so, then Greys have to be one of the biggest mass psychoses in human history. Tens of thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of people who have claimed to see them or thought they saw them. If every single one of those people were either lying or completely deluded... then...
"Combat focused expansion pack for Baldur's Gate" is good for me, 'cause I liked the combat and wanted some more dungeon crawling out of it.
It being linear is also good for me, can't get lost if the game is all linear.
Got a couple days to kill and decided this morning to fire up a CRPG, only...
Well, if they could figure out how to get rid of Hell Levels back in the day by smoothing out the EXP curve from 1-60, then they should be able to fix something like this... if the will is there.
I've got a similar question: Probably gonna knock them all out soon either way, but are any of Vaniki's raid achievements particularly must-do to have the rewards for the next server? I did everything up through level 55 IIRC and still have most of those claims banked (except the Emperor Ssra...
As someone who sucks at action games and doesn't think Elden Ring is that hard (if you use everything available to you), I'm curious to see how the DLC handles difficulty.
Does it stay more or less accessible and keep the invisible difficulty slider of the main game, or do they go all in with...
Fahrenheit 451 - The newer movie starring... Michael B. Jordan??
Didn't have high hopes for this and expected it to be geared towards a teenage audience, but the villain is played by Michael Shannon and that single-handedly carries it. By the end I'd say it was actually passable and got some of...
What's the best way to watch T2 or Aliens at this point?
I've got T2 on both VHS and Blu-Ray. Never bothered getting a 4K player despite having a 4K TV. For movies it really doesn't seem to make much of a difference, or even worsens them in some cases.
Far as I can tell DVD is too low-res and...
You still playing IWD?
Another really good long-form video worth adding here that mostly focuses on CRPGs but also gets into the contribution of JRPGs a bit, or at least the late 80's early 90's ones that branched off of the CRPG genre. This video single-handedly got me pumped to do more CRPGs...
For 90% of the card battles I won by focusing on just taking over the majority of the board so the CPU had nowhere to go. Those cards that can be placed on an existing card to flip the pawns next to them were ideal for freezing out the CPU.
Sounds like the lifetime sub was kind of like buying into bitcoin in the 2010's. Seemed like an iffy prospect at the time while actually being an incredibly good deal.
They need to fix whatever the issue is with mob exp at level 111+ and just let mobs give normal exp at that point.
While they're at it, having 101+ not immediately nullify exp from pre-TDS zones would also be nice.
I don't know if this is a coding issue or an exp curve / numbers issue. As in...
IIRC silver is pretty useless after a point because it'll "blue out" most high level raid equipment you have on and cut your HEM by like 80%. It lets you log in and that's about it. Never gave much thought to it as a result, I'm either subbed or not subbed.
Yeah, same thing happened to me early in the video when he was showing PC games from the 1970's like Moria. I recognized some of the footage from when I was VERY small, and unlocked a distant memory of playing Moria (or at least looking at it) on a school library computer at like 4 years old...
Not sure I believe anything that random guy is saying about being experimented on, but if grey aliens are real, it wouldn't surprise me at all if they could cross-breed with humans. Have always gotten the vibe that they either made us, or ARE us from further up the evolutionary ladder (i.e...
I definitely regret missing out on getting a lifelong sub for $200 or whatever it was during the super-limited time it was for sale. Found out about it, was gonna get it, then poof no longer available.
That was another thing, they made Shinra responsible for the reactor explosion being so intense rather than letting Avalanche actually be a morally questionable shade of grey, "ends justify the means" faction.
Good luck running OG PS1 FF7 on the Switch, I'm not sure if the hardware can keep up...
Did he? My bad. I don't remember seeing any corpses of regular people on the ground, just lots of Shinra troopers. Maybe I'm wrong.
I might be wrong about Dyne's victims, but I listed a ton of other things that I thought were unnecessary changes and I don't think I was wrong about the lion's...
https://forums.daybreakgames.com/eq/index.php?threads/how-about-a-server-where-everyone-starts-with-their-epic-1-0.296850/
My wacky epic idea got shat on by a bunch of people with no imagination who barely even read the post, or noticed that I had recommended levels for stats and level...
Just thought of something else. Everyone Dyne kills in the Gold Saucer is a Shinra trooper. In the original he killed a bunch of innocent people, which illustrated how far gone he was. This time they sanitized that by basically having him kill a bunch of the bad guys.
Which makes the reactions...
Personally I have more disdain for Japanese anime-style games with low camera angles and schoolgirl panty shots than I do for anything from Sweet Baby Inc. (Don't get me wrong, they're both lame as hell)
Funny because I used that very strat to steamroll Ogre Battle back in the day, and was asking on here if it was feasible in UO. Sounds like it totally is. The game should be pretty much a cakewalk then.
This means your level 5 Origin-bots could also be bound in other places and used as a death-shortcut to get around. Basically doubling your available town-warps. Run the DE down to Oggok and bind there and you can skip the Ogre bot.
Basically you can create your own super-ghetto version of PoK.
What is a Breezeboot's Frigid Gnasher?
500,000 man-years have been spent playing this game, longer than all of known human history and pre-history.
Warrior being the most-played class kinda explains a lot. Like why so many people left for WoW.
