Finished the griffon yesterday. Then started on an alt in the older zones, trying to get my engineer up to speed. Mounts change the game, but the griffon is definitely king of bypassing mobs, hard jumps, walls, etc.

Really enjoyed this expansion so far. The zones are huge, lots to explore. Finished the story, that was fun and not too tough, didn't die that much. Working on the griffon mount. Should have it tonight or tomorrow. Not sure what to do in PoF after the griffon mount though.

Login rewards sometimes drop Black Lion Salvage Kits. They have a better rate for getting dark matter. Be sure to log in every day even if you are not playing, the login rewards are pretty good.

Other than actually being released, my only concern about this game is that with all the feature bloat and sim stuff, they kill the fun factor. Freelancer wasn't anything groundbreaking really, but I had a lot of fun in that game.

Apparently the new expansion has some pretty big maps with waypoints spread far apart. So the need is probably only for those maps. Much like gliding is really only necessary in the HoT maps. But even if they're just for fun, that's cool.

One of the 3 home server maps is the HoT map. The other 2 are Alpine. They started doing that a few months ago.

If you WvW then you want the elites from HoT. There are some good parts to HoT, I really enjoyed the gliding stuff, and had fun for a couple of weeks in the new zones. But for the most part HoT was a disaster (especially for WvW). They have fixed many of those initial issues though.
