    NVidia GeForce RTX 30x0 cards

I got the cheapest aio water cooler, DDR 3200 ram and motherboard available and its lit up like a Christmas tree. But my 2 yr just sits there in my computer chair saying "Woah, awesome. Good job daddy." watching the lights. I was surprised how interested she was while I was putting it together...

    NVidia GeForce RTX 30x0 cards

I got one on Kijiji for 150$ under retail sealed in the box. A bunch of 5950xs dropped at a local store and there were quite a few people dumping their 5900s for retail or a bit below. I for sure hit the lottery but its a clear cycle that happens every time the local stores restock. I ended up...

    NVidia GeForce RTX 30x0 cards

If bitcoin doubles in value it's only 5 months! As someone who was a long term hold until several years ago and would be living a completely different life right now if I continued to hold it's probably best to keep the bitcoins and buy the cards with cash. Money printer go brrr but bitcoins don't.

I use nicehash because I'm lazy. It has an auto tuning miner and they pay you to rent your hash rate out so it will auto switch to whatever is most profitable. You just sign up for an account, download the miner and you get paid out every few hours with bitcoin. https://www.nicehash.com

My 1080ti is set to turn out 150$/month mining with nicehash and that's been increasing a dollar or so every couple hours. You might of gotten a lot more for those cards.

To cash out the rest of my BAT (on the ethereum network) on an exchange cost me 15$ worth of fees, roughly half the amount I had in the exchange. I'm really surprised the transaction costs have gotten that high as those fees are a real killer. In retrospect I should of exchanged them for another...

    Principalities and Powers

I've never liked the idea of psychedelics revealing gods, and I think there is a decent explanation of the action. Your brain is a series of older structures built on top of newer structures, each acting as it's own independent system running all the time but yet we don't perceive this at all...

Poll What Size of Community Do You Live In?

Ontario... looking at moving to a sleepy mountain town in BC deep in conservative country. If anyone had told me five years ago I'd be rushing to move away from a city to a small town to get away from liberals I would have laughed. Poll What Size of Community Do You Live In?

I live in a city with 400k people or so, I'm trying to transition to a small town to a small city that's more rural. People here are getting batty and I want as much distance as I can get from these maniacs. To give an example of what I'm trying to get away from, I had a friend's daughter who's...

They still killed Angela, so he still has motivation to take this forward. They had to kill off Mr Robot at some point to resolve that portion of the story line and making it into a rebirth of Elliot where he sheds his second personality freeing him to be something different was great imo. He...

You can make methane on the moon too, most of the shadowed craters with water contain a decent amount of carbon dioxide ice. The moon seems more useful than mars to me simply because it's closer to earth and the gravity is low enough that doesn't take much energy to launch off the surface. You...

I had a funny thought, what if travelling back in time was a lot easier than we imagined and it takes an advanced civilization 300 years of advancement to develop it. new Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 cards released

I'm not sure if it would be antitrust anymore now that Microsoft has added ARM support to windows and x86 emulation. I just don't think intel will purchase AMD because Intel will stagnate without competition in the x86 space and they will end up being usurped by an ARM derivative. ARM has a...

Science!! Fucking magnets, how do they work?

They always had cool uses for it but the primary issue was producing it cheaply. The manufacturing prices are starting to come down for at least small pieces of graphene and they're using it as a strong filler for things like concrete and carbon fiber. Now that we're starting to see people make...

I'd be hesitant to this is coordinated but a by product of the system we've created. Here are a few things that I think ended up with us in this situation. I loved this, it sort of had a Akira meets Legion art style to it. I have to wonder how much of it was inspired by Psychedelics due to it's use of hallucinating drugs and a guide (in this case a computer) to work through your pain and suffering to free you from it. I'm really enjoying the...

It's a great mechanism for getting money out of countries with currency controls.
