    The Last of Us

Agree with your first point about the poignancy, but completely disagree with your second point about it being just as emmy likely. Sadly, being trendy and topical is a big factor in awards like the Emmys/Oscars these days, and there just isn't anything avant-garde or trendy about a normal...

    The Last of Us

Did the same number with my wife. She was like, I can't tell if he's going to kill Ron Swanson or kiss him. And I was like well, could be both... I'd probably survive for a while in an apocalypse, but I'd definitely kill a lot of innocent people

    The Last of Us

I like the show and that was a well done episode, but it honestly killed the momentum of the show for me. It was like tossing a slow song into a party mix. Slow songs are fine, but we've all been to that party where the guy controlling the music fucks up the flow by putting on a song...

    RetributionEQ - EQClassic Emulator Server

I've been off eq emu for a few years now but I'm giving this server a shot. Plan to 3 box, but I can't remember what I need to do that... WinEQ? EQWin? MQ? What are people using these days- i.e. what do I need to get? Edit: Nevermind- a few minutes playing and I remembered what I needed...

    The D&D thread

Devastating fumbles and criticals are important imo for a few reasons. One, like @Dr.Retarded said, I think it's important for the lowliest Hobbit to at least have a shot at getting that super lucky shot and taking down a foe that should technically be out of his league. Two, they really do...

    The D&D thread

Yep- I get that D&D bundles a bunch of elements into the concept of hitpoints. I just think there is a better way. One that results in quicker combat and prevents numbers bloat.

    The D&D thread

I totally get that. But I think it *should* be statistically dangerous for any character (PC or NPC) to engage in combat. The more attackers you go up against (i.e. the more attack rolls you face), the more risky it is. I've never liked the idea of lengthy combat, where two people with axes...

Haven't done a deep dive, but at first glance it seems like Wizards is doing what they should have done in the first place: put some protections in place for proprietary content going forward, but leave 3rd party content engineered under the previous ogl alone. 100% guarantee you there were...

For the record, I have no issue with WoTC/Hasbro trying to make money. I have a game system myself that I hope to publish one day, and I would definitely like to make money with it. That said, there are lots of ways to monetize and make money. WoTC has chosen the worst way possible by trying...

I've been thinking the exact same thing. Still sitting on these inverse etfs. Edit: Did it. Finally sold my inverse positions and took profit. Be advised, the market is almost certainly going to crash next week to remind me how bad I am at timing things

My experiences have been hit and miss. Honestly, most of the time it's just "ok." Every once in awhile it sucks and you play with some pretty fucking weird people and generally just want the session to end. And every once in awhile you find some really cool people and end up playing with them...

Definitely like the low key approach devs are using, rather than overhyping and trying to fund off the hype. Games that do that rarely succeed. Best thing these guys could do is get as far as they can while keeping a low profile.
