If you think BTC was created with the sole intent to be a rugpull then I don't know what to tell you other than I disagree.

Plenty of scams make money for people beyond the one guy (or small group of guys) who set them up. Pyramid schemes etc. Rugpull shitcoins are coins created with the sole intent to heavily promote the coin and get as many investors to buy in and then cash out a few months later, leaving 80% of...

Plenty of scams mint millionaires. Also I should have specified I didn't mean include Doge itself in that statement about animal coins- I meant the dozens of doge copycats (including SHIB).

    Bitcoins/Litecoins/Virtual Currencies

Any coin involving animals (especially dogs), or the words "moon", "safe", or "Elon" is a shitcoin rugpull scam.

Let us know when you do, please. I personally haven't seen a reason to stray from ETH- not even to chase Matic- but I could be wrong.

Perspective. None of this shit with Elon is going to mean a damn thing in the grand picture of the crypto market. If you are long (meaning you are holding for a year or more), you probably won't even remember this dip down the road... because there are going to be plenty more dips along the...

The "all time" BTC bottom? No... I meant the bottom of this most recent dip that started with the Tesla announcement. My take is that ETH is going to eventually flip BTC, therefore BTC will drop quite a bit more as whales migrate from BTC to ETH. BUT I also think we see a BTC resurgence after...

Posted that back on March 19. People get caught up in debating whether BTC's reputation for being "bad for the environment" is true or not. If the reputation sticks, it doesn't really matter if it's true or not (from an investor's standpoint).

    Bitcoins/Litecoins/Virtual Currencies

Yes, I posted back in March this was going to happen, and it's one of the reasons I chose ETH to win out long term. Elon just fucked BTC again. Get ready for another drop

Totally second the idea of starting small if you invest in crypto. Even if you can (and plan to) invest a substantial amount, force yourself to start slow. You could be the smartest dude in the world, but your idea about what constitutes a good investment is going to change over time as you...

Whitepaper is good but a lot of it's just going to confuse you. Lots of good YouTube vids out there though that can really break things down and make them easy to understand. I personally prefer Crypto Casey. She has a whole series and you can start from her earlier vids where she breaks down...

I went all in on ETH during the last dip. I don't own any other coins now. I think in 12 months time everyone is going to be saying "Man, I wish I had more ETH" no matter how much ETH they have right now.

It would be insanely stupid for Musk to do something like that: sell a huge amount of BTC moments before his tweet. Moreover there would be no need. He controlled both the timing of his tweet and the timing of his sale. There would have been nothing stopping him from selling days in advance...

If ADA isn't a competitor of ETH, which coins are?
  17. Arden

    Bitcoins/Litecoins/Virtual Currencies

ETH has definitely accelerated their timeline due to competition. ADA is one of those competitors.
  18. Arden

    Bitcoins/Litecoins/Virtual Currencies

Right. Should be no need to sell ETH.

BTC is still the bellwether crypto, even if you believe (like me) that it won't be for long. Anything that massively effects BTC is going to have a broad effect on the crypto market as a whole. Plus, the whole DoJ/IRS investigation into Binance is also factoring in. Plus, the crypto market...

Lol perusing fintwit- all the various influencers and reps from the various cryptos are taking this opportunity to go ahead and remind everyone how "green" and "sustainable" their coin is... :eyeroll. Everyone wants to be Musk's next crypto crush.

We know institutional investors have been primarily responsible for ETHs recent surge, but we don't necessarily know which ones. Read the writing on the wall though: 1. Tesla publicly sells a portion of BTC. 2. ETH more than doubles in a month as institutional investors pour money into it. 3...

Read the last sentence of Tesla's statement. It's v clear Musk is transitioning his support from BTC to some other crypto. Pick the right one and you'll make a lot of money. The obvious answer is ETH, but it's Musk, so who knows? It's fun to speculate what's going to happen, but anyone with...

Coins with a solid use case get hit with hype just like shitcoins. When the hype ends for shitcoins, they die. When hype ends for coins with substance, they correct and then continue to grow. VET was steadily growing in value before the hype and it will continue to grow once it corrects.

Yeah, I've stayed away from ADA for these reasons, but I've recently read some things that make me think ETH and ADA can easily co-exist and both can prosper. My biggest position by far is still ETH, but I sunk some funds into ADA recently mainly because as a coin itself it is technically very...

Yeah, that's why I put "company" in quotes. You're investing in a protocol, not a company, but that's what's really interesting about crypto- it gives "protocols" some of the same properties as companies. It's not quite analogous, but from an investment standpoint it's close enough.

I guess it feels like owning tokens (and some coins) is almost a new way of owning equity in a company. Even if the UNI token itself doesn't have a "use," Uniswap itself has significant value as a "company" and by owning UNI you are investing in the company. As Uniswap itself goes up in value...

Again, worth remembering all these barriers and annoyances are what is keeping the prices low enough for normal people to get in cheap and early. Once they are gone prices will skyrocket.
