I think it's from it being a weekend and then a weekday, and the newness wearing off enough that people don't feel they NEED to wait in a 2 hour queue to play a new game the first day.

The first 5 issues are free now too. There's a lot of new content if you quit before any of the patches. It's all pretty good.

The combat is vastly more entertaining than Rift. Rift levelling at launch was awesome because the swarms of people just rifting all over the place felt fucking alive. Then you started doing dungeons and raids, and if you try to level now it's completely dead.
