I think the other factor was Kunkka was so strong for so long. They sort of fill the same catch role. I had Treant + Techies duo in my game. They tp'd out and went to enemy bounty. Mined it, bait with Techies for a boom + Tree punch for a quick first blood. I laughed.

Bounty is great vs Monkey, get to see him up on the trees. I assume Slardar would work the same way.
