This is absolutely accurate. Indian hires can normally only do the exact and singular thing they were hired for. They are unable to handle deviation well and don't learn more breadth of the infrastructure they are working in. As well as trying to offload work onto others constantly.

Bro I fuck up all the time and I am replaceable. By your reckoning 100% of IT should be offshored due to the guaranteed cost savings. I mentioned before that it can take a year for a new dev to understand the company infrastructure and proprietary technology. This is with full on the job...

If you take the guaranteed labor cost savings of the 80% discount Indian worker as a manager you get a good bullet point on your annual budget. Guaranteed. But this also conceals later issues because many problems created by these idiots are only identified far down the road when they are...

There is no level of policing for "excessive breaks" or anything like that in software development, legal, and so on. Your level of productivity is subject to many external factors far beyond your control. You cannot just move more X or create more Y in a quota like capacity. If I finished...

Lots of management time is spent managing costs. At least at my company. We spend a lot of time understanding how to run cheaper and leaner. Your perspective of policing people is one of the factory floor which just doesn't apply in the tech industry in general. If I tell you that you can cut...

Because its becoming clear now that AI is not a shortcut to make a retard an expert in something. But rather make someone already productive far more productive if they start leveraging it. The software engineer can now have an AI agent do your dumbass email job with a few prompts to a well...

Most interesting part is the he confirms the void above the current opening of the Pyramid used as the main door is real. This void contains a long hallway and who knows what else. I saw it posted around in here earlier but didn't know if it was substantial at all. Guess it is. The guy says...

Big time. The database one I find useful but its marginally useful. Even when the agent can run its own queries and read the results it needs specific rules on what to do with it, and lots of datasets are wildly different so it becomes less useful. What HAS been useful is creating the...

https://ghuntley.com/stdlib/ Good article about AI. I simp for Cursor hard as its really the best AI tool I have used. By far. That is if you're writing code directly. Microsoft for example needs their integrated AI to be at the level Cursor is now. Like you fire up a MS application or even...

If you apply on those sites even for a job that does exist at X company you can very easily be applying to some middle man Indian staffing agency that then applies for you. I got caught up in one of those applying for a job at Southwest Airlines one time. Never again.

It can very easily take a year or more to train up a developer on where stuff is in your proprietary infrastructure. Even more to know exactly how to fix certain critical issues with processes that run the business itself. This creates an incentive to not let people go even if they have...

What are you listening to at the moment?

You can watch all of old Fred Dibnah's vids on YouTube when he was on the BBC back in the 70s and 80s. Just a working class steeplejack who brought some light to an otherwise mundane profession. It's really fascinating stuff though. He was also an odd super hobbyist who rebuilt a traction engine...
