I think the reason why Wrath is also mentioned as the last good expansion is not only due to changes in core game mechanics, but it's also the end of the story of Arthas, that had been going since Warcraft 3. With Cata the lore took a dive for the worse.

If they do do some sort of expansion progression they'd be retarded to have it continue after the end of WotLK. There are few, if any who think that WoW got better with Cata. Personally I'd do a progression up to the end of Wrath, then once that was done open a bunch of "fresh" Classic servers...

There was a lot of grinding to 60 IIRC pre-Silithus. I remember spending a shit ton of time in that snowy place up north (Winterhold?) grinding on both the saber cats and those owlkins, and the occasional Chinese huntard bot. Is Silithus in this patch? If not then it'll be a grindfest.
