DC:UO's cash shop is pretty good. Any costumes/weapon skins unlock for your whole account. I think silver accounts have a money cap though, I haven't ever really booted it up when I wasn't on the $20 thing sony does.

EQ2 also did instancing pretty damn well too. In the early days it was mostly just used for small zones inside dungeons / end bosses of dungeons. Very cool solution.

I only end up playing in huge guilds full of random players and I can't even remember anyone ever getting achievements/mentioning Pokewow as activities they were participating in it. it's still pretty much all the old same shit leveling/dungeons/lfr/pvp.

You mean the part of WOTLK where you could farm points for BIS gear and there were multiple difficulty levels on content? WoW is in the best place it's been in a long time once the patches made dailies irrelevant/unneeded. Challenge mode dungeons are also cool as shit.

NeedToKnow is nice, I just have it track inquisition and set it just above my hotbars/under my cast bar. A lot less of a pain in the ass like that.

I agree, the game should have just capped at 30 and built around that. It FEELS like that was the intention and they just tacked on 30 more levels.

Loot scales linearly and isn't very well done, so +5 levels is +5 more gooder, so it seems shitty and pointless to farm for loot that isn't as good as what you would get with those additional levels.
