    Going to Movies Solo

Going to the movies solo can lead to strange situations. I went to see 22 Jump Street during the day and we ended up being 2 guys in the 600 seats theater, so suddenly you watch the movie hearing what the other guy finds funny and you don't andvice versa.

Things are heating up for the Masters' Cup: Djokovic, Federer, Nadal, Wawrinka and Cilic (by virtue of winning the US Open and the other three slam champions being assured to be in the top 7) are in. Nishikori should be ok, but then it's a fierce race between Berdych, Murray, Ferrer, Raonic and...

    Hatred

There is something amusing in doing the game that video games are accused of being by those that do not know the medium, but it all sound very 1st degree (and I don't mean 1st degree murder).

The Big Bad Console Thread - Sway your Station with an Xboner !

We both know it's made by Bungie and that Bungie made Halo, but I wonder what percentage of people who bought the game also know that. I suspect 'online FPS' being more in tune with the taste of the Xbox brand consumers has a bigger impact than the 'Bungie fan club' factor.

The Big Bad Console Thread - Sway your Station with an Xboner !

The only way this could have happened is if the chinese launch of Xbox One (a territory not covered by the PS4) had been a giganormous success. Since they did not even sold 100k units there, it is totally impossible. Sony not mentioning world wide numbers is just because at some point you have...

Destiny on Xbox One outselling the PS4 version is a bit of a surprise when you consider all the advertisement was tied to Sony.

    Playstation TV - Launching Octover 14th 2014 - Details / Information / Reviews thread

There is a a soft emulation of sorts with a pointer you can move on screen with the analog stick I believe? I remember seeing something like that when they first revealed the gizmo several months back, so it might not be in the final product.

    Playstation TV - Launching Octover 14th 2014 - Details / Information / Reviews thread

The home console versions of Child of Light probably have their assets stored at an optimal resolution for 720p while the Vita version have them for 544p. Upscaling 544p to 720p means it will have jaggies or be blurry (or both!). They should upscale to 1088p and crop 8 lines or cheat with the...

    Homeland

I really liked these first three episodes. Not everything was stellar, but it set the scene well. On complain though: can one really jog to free jazz? More seriously, I have been asking for more jazz for 3 seasons now. Her trumpet should be Holmes' violin and instead we have not seen her play...

    Tennis

Simon started well against a somewhat nervous Federer and then the frenchman managed to lull the swiss with his strange brand of consistent off-pace tennis. Mid way through the set, Federer started to produce a little more game, notably slicing his backhand a lot more to try and upset the rhythm...

We got our final: FEDERER, when facing Djokovic, is supposed to avoid long rallies from the back of the court. Well... he did just that. But instead of rushing head first to the net without sense or reason, he threw the occasional serve & volley in there, but he mostly engaged rallies with...

Secretly recording to gather evidence of a violent crime is apparently legal in California, but secretly recording a therapy session? That's pretty fucked up.

    Styx: Master of Shadows

I have not played the game, but some of the comment point out that a modicum of skill is needed unlike the very assisted movement of an Assassin's Creed. So what is the problem exactly? It's difficult to aim the jumps properly and/or there is zero assistance making it very tedious?

We have our semis in Shanghai: DJOKOVICbroke early in the first against Ferrer, but then it turned into a battle the whole set through, culminating with an almost 15 minutes long 10th game on the Djokovic serve that the World N?1 finally managed to bag along with the first set. The spaniard...

    Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.

I liked the episode, but I got to laugh when some agent said Casablanca was in the middle-east... EDIT: Actually it's a Bushism, using the term 'greater middle east' to basically say 'muslim countries'.

    Going to Movies Solo

I have 20+ movie screens within a 15min walk radius, so the huge majority of the movies I see are impulse-watch. The only guideline is sparing the movies that have date/buddy night potential, unless you don't mind seeing the same movie twice.

Umbrella Revolution - Hong Kong Protests

The 'funny' part is that we are in 2014 and that democratic system for 2017 is supposed to be a part of the transitional '1 country 2 systems' running from the 1997 retrosession to 2047. That's 20 years of beating around the bush out of a possible 50.

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For

Rambo 4 was fun in its over-the-top-ness, but Rocky Balboa is a masterpiece, a film that seemingly emerged from a time machine. Jerle Committed Suicide Today
