    Guild Wars 2

Guild Halls are nothing but another really huge stupid grind, just like everything else in HoT. Even BASIC CHAIRS for decoration require some rare crafting material or some shit. They basically threw out the GW2 manifesto with this expac. On the plus side, some of the elite specs are...

Lawl, completely spaced on DH. What are "legion-daries"? I assume you're making a legendary joke, but I don't remember anything notable about Legion legendary(ies). Is it not just the "grind the expac for a legendary everyone gets", ala ring and cloak?

So what's the overall feature list we have so far? -Artifact weapon leveling -Scalable leveling content for 100-110 -D3 style bounties for dailies -Class orders which also work as replacing some of the daily content -Class revamps (ranging from minor to completely gutted and reworked)...

I don't think we can say that at all. However, if they'd release a video showing that 1-10 content so we really see what it is, and had that with their KS, I think they'd have had such a better chance at it, definitely.

Yeah, I don't know anything about them either. Did they also try to do the "seamless" world, or traditional zones? Trying to make them seamless (pretend chunk lines weren't obvious) is what my understanding of the problems were.

    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

Maybe by the end it might as well have been, but it started off with them stitching together a bunch of Unreal maps for their "seamless world". Developers have commented that is why they always had so many tech issues - abuse of the Unreal engine. That one guy (Joppa?) that dipped in here months...

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

The fact that all their dates were vague "few weeks for beta" and "summer for launch" aren't great signs. It just means they don't know. So who knows. Also we should play "what announced features will actually make it"

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

People have already covered it in detail but: WoW: Legion: GW2 meets D3. It really sounds like they're going to fuck it up. How does that play into grouping? Everyone sees different numbers? First tag sets the HP? Etc. Hopefully they've figured it out, or they misspoke. It makes infinite more...

    Guild Wars 2

I'm really enjoying LS2. Each chapter is *much* longer than your launch personal story or the new HoT story. But I also really like story-driven play. After you beat each chapter once, you can replay them to go for achievements if that's your thing (like 'noone dies' or 'beat dude without being...

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

Lol, the most popular and successful MMO out there is not "dying". The market has shifted a ton though, they definitely need to adjust. But it's not reasonable to expect as many people to play MMOs in the same way we did 10 years ago. What other notable MMOs are sub only? FFXIV? (comedy option...

    Guild Wars 2

That sounds pretty likely. Turnover every year or two is really common around here for devs. The SA forum is plenty busy, and the goon guild is always full.

    Guild Wars 2

Gonna get defensive for just a second - their software developers are great. They have the smoothest running MMO I've ever played. There's no patch day. You can ALWAYS play (even if it kicks you to an overflow server). They got an amazingly slick infrastructure backing their games. That said...

Not calling you out - just honestly want to know what MMOs you are talking about. I still hop into LOTRO some, and I know that's one where people still form groups manually and build relationships (and also uninstanced PVP, except it's PvMP, and I've never ever played it). Curious as to what...

I didn't hit max in EQ for a while. I didn't hit max in WoW at launch - I got in to the 50s and ran out of quests, and couldn't find groups to run dungeons to fill the gaps (I did on my second time with the game, during late WotLK). I didn't in GW2 at launch (I did on my second time with the...

It can be like EQ Bards, just has to be after /melody But it doesn't matter, a real unique playstyle like some games have done with bards isn't going to happen in WoW anyways, with any class.

Yeah, but now it's Daybreak, I was just using the current naming. Daybreak (then SOE) had rounds of layoffs too, which is where a lot of the Pantheon guys came from (Brad included). If Silius is on twitch again, what I'm asking is - is he back working for them?
  26. Bruman

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

I don't think ranting about how WoW killed community in MMOs will get you negs on this forum. But, back to your point - you're describing a game that isn't WoW. WoW is about doing what is profitable. Making content that only the elite can play through isn't profitable. Variable difficulty is...

    World of Warcraft: Current Year

I don't like 4 raid difficulties either, but LFR / Normal / Heroic / Mythic all serve very distinct and different purposes (as laid out in the blue post above, Blizzard's success at this being so-so). Combining any of them will just piss off some segment of the user base.

The problem is this forum isn't a good gauge. Somehow even with kids I've managed some good stints in P99 which the same old bullshit. I can't currently, but I did when I wanted to. P99 existing is proof that some people will make time for it, some won't, and that's fine. Whether or not...

Yeah, I think there's a market for Pantheon, but I don't know how it could ever pay the bills. Then again, Mortal Online is still going and has employees. Developers make anywhere from $80k-120k (and up) in my market. 20k subs at $15/month (being generous) = $300k. After Brad and other...

    Pan'Theon: Rise' of th'e Fal'Len - #1 Thread in MMO

I think Pantheon could reasonably find 10-20k people who play it constantly, with maybe up to like 50k accounts of people that play the typical 1-3 month spurts here and there. I pulled that number from thinking about how successful P99 is but mostly just pulled it out of my ass. I think...
