Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023)

The internet should just be taken off some people.

    Ahsoka

Had Ray Stevenson finished his appearance in this before he passed or will there be some jarring disappearance of him written in?

    Lethal Weapon 5

Last time I saw Danny Glover was in Shooter. He must have had a new pair of dentures because he was rasping like that old cowboy dude every line.

    Secret Invasion

One thing I took away from the last episode was:

Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remaster Series

I'd imagine FFXI has a pretty high barrier to entry now. If you want to achieve anything of worth you need a party and many of the expansions are very fond of level-syncing you way down which prevents you overlevelling and strong-arming content. That's aside from the macros you need to make...

    Secret Invasion

Kang’s thing is time travel no? *edit* Okay, went back and watched the last episode of Loki. Basically them killing the last remaining Kang ended up “spawning” all the variant Kangs you see in Antman 3. Or undoing the slaughter of all of them by future remaining Kang. Blah!

    Secret Invasion

How do they get this shit so wrong? It's like the whole first season of Loki leading to this climax with Kang which isn't even referenced in Ant Man 3. I can pretty much guarantee nothing that results from this is going to have any significant impact on phase 5. At this point I don't care if...

Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remaster Series

Yeah, I thought I didn't see them in the UK. By the time they did release over here I was absorbed with EQ. Saying that, I remember playing FFXI from the NA launch, which presented its own problems in a heavily party-required game for a Brit falling between JP and NA timezones, and that...

Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remaster Series

What I seem to be getting from this thread is buy 6 or 5 and ignore the others, at least for now. How did you all play these originally? Were they released on SNES or Jap-onry imports?

    Justified: City Primeval

Prime example, when he kneels over a grievously wounded Daryl Crowe Jr, looks him in the eyes, and just watches as he breathes his last breath.

Final Fantasy I-VI Pixel Remaster Series

It's been a long time since I played 9 but I remember I found the enforced parties (you must use a specific member) annoying. Especially as some of them would get locked out for a while and be sat there with a ton of good gear on them.

Transformers: Rise of the Beasts (2023)

Just watched Bumblebee the other day, was actually pretty decent in so much as it's set in the 80s and the Transformers it features definitely gave me the nostalgia feels.

    Marvel Universe stuff

To be fair Loki introduced Kang, Ant Man just gave his backstory. Although, it's entirely understandable if you missed Loki.

    Secret Invasion

Would have led to some awkward conversations when heads of state reappeared after the snap as Skrulls.

I thought so too. Maybe her story started a 100 years before strong chick’s did.

    The Flash (2023)

    Didn't know this, mind blown.

    Final Fantasy 16

Can't comment on 1 to 6 as I haven't played them yet but come on, the male characters are a bunch of autists too. Japanese writing is questionable at best when you factor in this hugely emotionally repressed culture. Cloud spends most of his time bumbling around trying to remember who he is...

    Secret Invasion

Two episodes in and I'm kinding of rooting for the Skrull. I mean, what's the premise? 5 or 6 episodes of running around not achieving much then a final episode where there's a Super Skrull for 5 minutes and <insert superhero here> turns up and slaps him down. Then all the other Skrull...

    Final Fantasy 16

On holiday till the 29th so definitely reading comments on here with interest. Most likely will pick this up when I return though.

Elden Ring - From Software + George RR Martin

My PS5 screen tells me I’ve played this game for 744 hours so far which seems concerning and yet I’m still finding random things I’ve missed. Prime example, the broken bridge which leads to the tower where you activate your first great rune. I’ve done that so many times now and have just...

    Who died? (Celebrity Deaths)

The collective term surgeons use for motorcyclists in England is donors. Says all you need to know about your chances.

    Foundation

There's no denying this looks polished and visually stunning. I just struggle to get past the seemingly poor story (maybe I'm not smart enough to appreciate it) and the majority of really poor actors excluding Harris and Pace.

    Who died? (Celebrity Deaths)

I mean, a motorcycle accident at 71 is a fucking cool way to go.

    Who died? (Celebrity Deaths)

Lex Luger is just about still hanging on.

    Ahsoka

Can't deny it. Only starting watching it last week. That doesn't detract from the fact the production values and underlying "message" can be vastly different on the live action stuff. There are enough examples.

    Ahsoka

You all realise this is going to Rebel girls save the universe don't you?

And a token hammer for Crystallians because fuck them.

    Ahsoka

Google “Trance” and then question my motivation for watching this!

Ray Stevenson dead at the age of 58 (Rome, Black Sails, Punisher)

It's worth a watch if you haven't seen it. I mean, it's corny as hell from beginning to end but it's a good "take your brain" out watch. Also, Kevin Nash is 6'10"... he's a RL fucking giant.

That shit still freaks me out to this day!

    Indiana Jones 5 (2020)

Putting aside hatred for Disney, let's take that as a given, one thing that comes out of this is Harrison Ford has no investment in his characters and it's all just the money. He starred in that travesty of a trilogy and had Han killed off and now it's looking like he's doing the same with...

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania (2023)

Much what I thought. I ended up watching it over three sittings. Have yet to watch the remainder of Dr Strange, made it like 30 minutes in and noped out.
  36. Grizzlebeard

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023)

I can see where some of you are coming from about the animal scenes. I kind of expected the outcome as well but I could watch it without being overly disturbed. However, yeah, way too grimdark for a kid and that’s not even counting the scene where Starlord cuts the memory core out the guy’s head...

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 (2023)

Saw an early showing if it this morning. Was literally the only person in the theatre. Enjoyed it. Time flew by. Bunch of hits in the feels. Would happily watch again. Can’t say that for much other Marvel stuff lately.

Rings of Power: Tolkien's Shambling Skinsuit

The Witcher was just this decade's Xena. Acting and script were pure garbage and yet it still managed to come in a country mile ahead of ROP. I only managed I think three episodes.

Rings of Power: Tolkien's Shambling Skinsuit

Seemed the most appropriate place to put this.
