It's important to remember that as a high-end SK, you need to be a god-tier player to be useful in a raiding environment. And generally a necromancer or monk could do your job better (insta fd + sneak or two DAs + rune). SKs need harmshield imo, it's only fair.

The bards I've leveled were organically grown in sol a / chardok. No OT groups were harmed in the production of these characters.

I play 60 bards and I'm terrible at being a group bard. It's by far the hardest type of barding and I don't recommend it :P Can kite fear all day, do a little PL, play resist songs with the best of em. Learning to group bard is overrated

Threat will never be enough to tank. Raid targets require aggro clickies / defensive stance /evasive stance, but they work extremely well for WW stalls with appropriate aggro clicks (especially with puppet strings). There's a ton of monks. But on P99 monks (and necros, sometimes bards)...

Getting basic caster gear while you level isn't hard and it's fairly cheap on the whole. Getting melee gear (especially quality haste, sans rogue epic) can be quite expensive--I wouldn't play a melee as a first char. Leveling a bard to about 50 is fairly easy if you have an aptitude for kiting...

Hide used to be a thing outside of see invis. Now it's just ivu / invis. Low lvl trash in most dungeons are like 60% see invis (they buff themselves with see invis, lols).
