I will probably be looking for a slightly more casual group for the launch weekend since i can't commit to full time leveling on Wednesday or Thursday, can probably go a little more hardcore on Friday - Sunday.

They reworked a lot of souls around 4.0 so a lot has changed - many of the 1 button macro builds are dead. In addition to the free expansion promo, i also got an email to return to Rift which gave me a code for the Ascended Essentials Pack, 1 month patron and a full calendar month of login...

oh yeah, huge difference. I just started up a level 65 (boosted - so it had decent starter gear) then went to the first SFP zone and was getting gear with double the stats usable at level 65.

Worst part of it, at launch, the dungeons weren't working right and you could complete all of the expansion quests and still not hit 70 without using exp pots. But enjoying it a little back goofing off, haven't tried the new LFR stuff yet.

Yeah, it sucked. If it hadn't been for the chat room experience of EQ i never would have stuck with it, especially playing a wizard early on when i was pretty much relegated to quadding until AE groups started becoming popular.

The new expansion is pretty - i enoyed the leveling, unfortunately there was so little content beyond the quest leveling when it was released. I think it had two dungeons, no raids, etc. It looks like it's starting to feel like a real expansion, it's just a shame that it took them almost 6...

While i agree with most of what you said, there were more than a few groups. They were busy as fuck up through Velious, for the obvious reasons you have stated.

The good camps had really good NPC density so that may have made up for it. It definitely felt lower soloing there though. That why i went to overthere, it was pretty safe on the walls but there was really good NPC density which made up for the lower exp.

Working on the blinding knife by brent weeks. Just finished the black prism; first book in the series. It's a decent story, kind of shallow character development so far, but i am enjoying the magic system.

Or they have sold the game to a bigger company. Coleman made some allusion to that's what some indie games hope for and made me wonder if that's what their goal was going to end up being. Then again it could be something cool

I agree on the upper tiers, but the lower tiers are pretty fair in my opinion considering there is no cost to buy the game, just the sub.
