DuckTales Remastered coming this summer (X360/PS3/PC/WiiU)

Thank you for this! Now I don't have to bother getting a Wii U. Also, this better be in it.

Final Fantasy XIV (Guide in first post)

Is it possible to hook a USB keyboard + mouse up to the PS3 and play it that way? Or are you just stuck with the gamepad on PS3? PC can barely run this (esp. in dense areas), but obviously the PS3 runs fine. Or do I need to just get used to the gamepad setup if I go and play on PS3 untill I can...

Final Fantasy XIV (Guide in first post)

Well the game runs infinitly better on my PS3 than it does on my PC,.. but the gamepad is just messy. I couldn't even figure out how to get my other actions onto my bar with a controller

Final Fantasy XIV (Guide in first post)

Thanks for making me spit out my beer laughing. It's an old beast, I got it when I LotRO came out, but it can still run this decently enough to play. Hoping the PS3 version is more viable.

Final Fantasy XIV (Guide in first post)

Guess I can't really complain about it running sluggish on my dual core 2.4g, 4GB ram and a GeFroce 9800 GT.. Thing is over 6 years old nowStill runs, and is playable... But I might have to try it on the PS3.

Rogean being a shady guy aside, I have a hard time seeing Nilbog letting it get shut down. At least permanently. Say what you want about Rogean, Nilbog is legit.

Because the little effort it would take to prove the secret transactions is a lot more than what SoE would want to be doing right now. I can't see P99 hurting Lives numbers by any real margin.

    Futurama Season 7

If anything, Fry will still live on through the Red M&M.. But yeah this is sad, again. I will always love Futurama, and even with season 7 being sub par.

5 Best Games of All Time

My list. 1: Black Crypt (Amiga). My first dungeon crawl game I ever played. I have a hard time putting this above number 2, but I have so many "holy shit" memories from this game it has to be on top. About mid way through, Medusa would be patrolling around and would fuck your shit if you...

    Wii U

Just returned my Wii U to best buy today for a refund. Played through the Mario U game for a few days, then never touched the thing. Maybe in a year or so when the price hopefully drops and they have a little better game base I'll get one again. Cool little system, but almost zero appeal right now.

    Skyrim

+1, thanks for the news! Been waiting for this for awhile. Dawnguard was a complete joke of a DLC, hoping this actually adds some more life into Skyrim for me. And everything I have heard from XBox owners who are already playing it have been positive (outside of dragonriding, I guess that is a...

Giving it a try. Was always curious about this game, but never tried it (computer was pretty bad when it got released). Don't have anything to lose at least.

Retro and New Video Game Picture/Video Thread

The start of my retro game room in the apt. Still need some decorations / unpack and shelve the other half of my collection. Another view. Zelda 2 gold cart! A few of my Nintedo Powers I saved as a kid. A must (Still have the posters in it!) My old Sega Master System, with...

Retro and New Video Game Picture/Video Thread

Phantasy Star 1 was my fist RPG as a kid. 2 was also awesome. 3 had great ideas, but the combat system fell flat for me. However Phantasy Star 4 is easily the best in the series. I put Phantasy Star 4 on the same level as final fantasy 7. Also, a Phantasy Star Generation 1 (you know, the...

I'll check that out. Since I can use my Wii and emulate the Advance on that. (Always hate playing emulated games on my computer for some reason. Nice to have it on a big T.V.)

Is there a reason? I like the idea of playing it on my SNES, but does the Advance remake make it better? Thought I heard something about the remakes of FF6 removing some famous lines.

Meh, I like Mass Effect oustide of the ending. Found a mod that completely alters the ending, so with this run (only my second run) I'm going to use that instead. But yes, I do hang my head in shame for never finishing FF6. Hell I own the cart. I'll make up for this FF8 disagreement by beating FF6.

But how would I prove that I've beaten it! To be honest, it's next on my RPG list after I finish my current run of Mass Effect. It's been on the back of my head for the longest time, and every time I do play it I enjoy every second. Really have zero idea why I have never played it from start to...

I must confess a sin. I have never played through it entirely. Furthest I ever got was the the dead world (or whatever it was called). Shame to, because when I do play it I love every minute. Chalk it up to being a Sega kid and never having it. One day I will complete it.

The only way I know of (or at least remember) to break FF9 somewhat early is climbing out onto that little area on the side of a mountain in that one Grotto cave (can't remember the name) that has those Grand Dragons on it. Some little trick involving Quina I believe you could abuse to take them...

The Authoritative Final Fantasy & Bravely Default thread

What's your point? I never once said that Final Fantasy at all is hard. I simply showed the ease it is to break FF8 compared to the others, due to a completely broken system. No one is complaining about being OP in a boss fight... We are bitching about a terrible system.

The Authoritative Final Fantasy & Bravely Default thread

Any serious person who plays FF8 stops drawing magic around the same time you take the train to the next continent and get the whole "Laguna" dream thing. Sure a few things you will draw, but cards are the easiest way to go. Esp. since you can, without any real effort, build a deck so early on...

The Authoritative Final Fantasy & Bravely Default thread

I guess? Except the game tells you to junction blind before running through the training ground to blind the T-Rex thing so you can God mode it. If people are too dumb to read, then yes sure. Anytime I ever play FF8, I use the same thing the game told me to do against the T-Rex thing against...

Too tired to argue anything else right now, but Diablos should always be done when you get him. Did you not read the tutorial the game shoves down your throat? Junction blind to Squall (pref. 100 blinds, takes all of 5 minutes at most to draw), blind him via Squall attacks and become basically...

Don't argue with him. Sean thinks I spent hours upon hours of farming a broken card system... Yes I chose to play a game the way it made sense,.. sucks that the way it made sense became OPed.

Really isn't a whole lot to the old carts. Mostly just casing. The only real problem I have ever had with my old NES and SMS 8-bit carts are dead batteries for save games. Even that has been a rare issue. ( I had one copy of Phantasy Star for the Sega Master System the wouldn't save.)

If you're interested, the Sega Ages Phantasy Star 1 has been fan translated into English. I did have both Final Fantasy and Phantasy Star as a kid, but I could never...
