Yep, apparently there's a season 2 which makes fun of the 80's I'm hunting it down. Here's a trailer for the first season if anybody is interested.

Bill Gates Says AI Will Be As Dangerous as Nukes

Well that was kind of my point, you have to attach it or have it develop in a way where it learns under rewards and punishments. It doesn't spontaneously come with with these things unless it's essentially wired to do so. Like those little robots that follow light around.

Bill Gates Says AI Will Be As Dangerous as Nukes

You guys are anthropomorphizing machine intelligence. Even if you have a super intelligent being why would it desire anything at all? Emotions are not the same as intelligence. We have biological agendas which influence our behaviour, we at a genetic level want to spread our genes around. And...

It's not a movie but I just watched Australian TV series "Danger 5" on Netflix. Holy fuck. It,'s a parody of 60s movies but they fight Nazi dinosaurs in the second episode and the whole thing is as awesome as that.

Science!! Fucking magnets, how do they work?

Well the main absorption area of the sun's atmosphere the photosphere and chromosphere and those extend what? 20,000 km or so I guess at the most. The surface gravity of the sun is 27.94g, And the sun's radius is 696,000km, so the gravity where these absorption lines are happening is at least...

Science!! Fucking magnets, how do they work?

Furry, if we take the spectral lines of hydrogen from a gas lamp on a desk here on earth, they exactly match up with the spectral lines of hydrogen in the Sun's atmosphere. One has vastly more gravity. This means that the electromagnetic force is the -same- here on earth as it is right...

Science!! Fucking magnets, how do they work?

But their life's work doesn't go up in smoke, like who's ever heard of that guy Issac Newton? All those outdated theories, pssssh. The fact of the matter is, our understanding of light isn't wrapped up in gravity. It's wrapped up in electromagnetism. Our models of electromagnetism are...

Science!! Fucking magnets, how do they work?

They would be THRILLED, the speed of light being a variable changes literally everything. The way we measure distance is all wrong. Einstien's metric tensor is wrong. Maxwell's equations of electromagnetism are wrong. If c was still c, but light traveled at less than c, it means relativity is...

Science!! Fucking magnets, how do they work?

With the conditions of the problem set up as they are, I don't think solution 1 has an answer. You end up short and hit y=10 before x=5 even at max steering rate. With: Vx = 3*sin(Theta) m/s Vy = 3*cos(Theta) m/s And theta is the angle of current steerage. Which is described by some...

Science!! Fucking magnets, how do they work?

I can answer the second question because it's a consequence of conservation of energy. It's easier to think of it backwards and the source is a light bulb or something emanating radiation equally in all directions. As that light spreads out it still maintains the same total amount of...

I still don't know why Diaz is fighting at middleweight when he is clearly a welterweight. Was it just so he could fight Anderson? As to the fight, NOBODY thought Diaz was going to win, the fact that he made it five rounds and was competitive every round is basically shocking. GSP had beat...

Rogue took a lot of hits since Nax and it hasn't really been given a good card to compensate. Tempo was already weak when miracle was dominant, so once miracle got nerfed enough to be unplayable rogue just vanished. You can build a rogue deck which will beat zoo aggro like 90% of the time but...

His top 3 for GvG were Muster for Battle, Fel Reaver, and Unstable portal. Not in his top 10: Dr. Boom, Mechwarper, Imp Implosion. Hearthstone card evaluation is still in diapers compared to MtG, I can go back in this thread and dig up some views that were waaaaay off.

My ramp druid has a Malorne in it to counter mill decks. (Also it was a golden legendary so I needed an excuse to play it). It won me the game against a mill deck but that was just the one time, mill decks are still really rare. It's okay against warrior but meh against pretty much everything else.

The best and easiest example of a physical negative amounts is with electric charge. As in this isn't referential purely referential. Negative charges actually cancel out positive charges to give neutral charge.

Science!! Fucking magnets, how do they work?

There are so many things that pure classical physics can't explain that it's basically pointless to assume that quantum mechanics is false. For example, the atom. Thomson's atmoic model was one of electrons suspended in a positive charged body, this was because there was no discovery of a...

Science!! Fucking magnets, how do they work?

An atom doesn't have a chance to decay that changes over time. It has a chance (probability) to decay at ANY point in time, that probability is a constant. Half-life is the total amount of time where it's total probability of decaying during that amount of time is 50%. Or macroscopically, if you...

Science!! Fucking magnets, how do they work?

Forget negative numbers, most real numbers don't exist either, or more specifically they are completely based on human conceptions. The whole thing is philosophical. For example lets take 0.5. There isn't really anything in nature which is a half, the idea of having a half of something is a...

Science!! Fucking magnets, how do they work?

The gist of it is relativity says there are no preferred reference frames. The only thing that is important is relative motions, hence the name of the theory. This guy says that if you allow for preferred reference frames (in this case he bases one around gravity) then you can have directional...

    Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)

No. Marvel used to be called Timely Comics which was created in 1939. Stan started working there a few weeks after it was created as an assistant. It was rebranded as Marvel comics much later (1960's) when Stan Lee was already a head writer. The actual history of it is pretty interesting.
