So if there playing min-ilvl , if you go in with armor/weapon that are over ilvl, you do not get the materia bonus out of the equip, basically the game will scale the item down too min-ilvl and then remove the materia. It's also why you'll see alot of farming parties for 04S/E4S for ultimates...

Tank's in 14 play way different vs WoW , you don't hop around all the time/continual circle in 14, all the boss's have tells for the hard hitting stuff and things that give vuln stacks.. They constantly move around is the problem it doesn't work that way in 14 at all..

It depends on what he wants too do, if he's just crafting too craft the ilvl500 gear is good. Pentamelded 490 is if you want too HQ everything, and make Expert recipes easy(even then they are still a pain in the ass)

Even Savage is still skill dependent, I am beyond ilvl530 and Shiva(E8S), and E12S both kick my ass if I'm not doing mech's. And Ultimates are even more skill dependent, that's why I laughed when I heard what Asmon has planned he is gonna hit a fucking wall if he thinks he can just walk in...

Eureka is just slow, but at the same time a lot of callbacks too XI are in there, good money in there once you are max'd with the element board and have access too the Lost Actions in there. It is fun if you can go in with a group too grind out what you need.
