I vote that getting randomly dropped in zone instead of the camp is one of the most useless features of this game.

Yeah. Most are like 80% from a tail carve and only 12% from a body carve. But Nergigante is apparently only 70% from a tail carve and 0% from a body according to the wiki.

My friend NiCu and I got a tail cut last night, got him asleep in his den, bombed him with 4 mega barrels......and he woke up and killed us. Should have carved when we could! Of course, right after that we had a clean no faint kill....no tail cut.

I was also not good at using the guard points with CB, which you really needto be able to do if you want to get max DPS out of it.

Charge Blade requires you to get at least your shield charged for max DPS, and you sword too if you can manage it, for the natural Mind's Eye (no bouncing attacks). Doing this takes up a lot of time where I find my self either missing the monsters with the attack combo that actually charges...

I made the move last night from Charge Blade to Switch Axe. Massive increase in my DPS. I would say I'm killing some monsters in half or 1/3 the time.

I think you are on the right path. I went from full bone to Barroth to Tobi-Kadachi. Then I mixed and matched some pieces. Some Baan, Horenetaur Chest for when you are in Rotten Vale etc. Last night I worked up to Anjanath and Odagaron set mix so I can farm some of the higher fire based guys.

@Tuco Use traps to restrain the monster during the fight so that everyone can pile the damage on. Each player can carry 1 shock trap and ingredients to craft more. Each time you use a trap the monster will break free more quickly though.

i5-4690k / GTX970 3gb / 16gb ram High settings with Volume Rendering off and I'm getting 70fps most places, some drops to 50 or spikes to 85 here and there. Turn it off, you get like 15 - 20fps gain with it off. I think it looks like shit anyway, it just makes the world look washed out and soapy.

Perfect World was a majority owner of Runic since 2010. They shut Runic down in Nov 2017.

If anyone figures out a way to turn off Depth of Field and Motion Blur, please post it here.
