I do think it matters when the numbers are so high and out of everyday experience that it's hard for people to to evaluate them intuitively when they're flying all over the screen. I agree that having things flat would be boring, but the progression could easily have been linear-ish vs...

The damage numbers are all arbitrary. If the designers wanted they could have attack values and defense values interact so that overall damage does whatever they want. There's no reason it HAS to be exponentially increasing damage countered only by absurd HP pools.

Yeah, the time zone for England spits Ireland to the west and Germany to the east. Blizzard's line at the tip of Greenland is nothing and is in the middle of UTC-3.

I'll reiterate the need for conduit, having had direct experience with a bad subterranean run. If anything compromises the line you can end up with a leak that can be all of a) hard to detect b) expensive, and c) dangerous. For the cost of some pipe and a small amount of extra work it's well...

I would definitely bury it right and use conduit. The last rental I was in before buying my current place had a circuit run from the house to a receptacle by the pool. I got a MASSIVE power bill one month, and after some troubleshooting determined that the underground wire was compromised and...

I've seen above-ground pools fully buried for years without issue. Edit: You're right, there are specify types of pools designed to be fully or partially buried. https://blog.royalswimmingpools.com/is-it-safe-to-bury-an-above-ground-pool

Time Travel: What would you do?

Einstein was literally the twu No, that's very much not what Einstein's work says. Modern physics is very clear that time passes differently for different observers due to the local shape of spacetime. That's the foundational point of relativity.

Time Travel: What would you do?

No, the mathematics of physics is quite clear that the two observers are experiencing time differently. "t" is right there in the equations. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Time_dilation We're interacting with the signals that come from those objects experiencing time differently than from our...

Time Travel: What would you do?

No, that's not true at all. If you take observers and subject them to dramatically different speeds they will have experienced different amounts of time when reunited. GPS doesn't work without accounting for the fact that time literally runs slower for the satellites than it does here on Earth...

Time Travel: What would you do?

Last comment because I think we're taking in circles around each other, but I don't think that being able to react to or detect events in finer intervals is the same as time running more slowly. One minute of experience is still a minute if in 30 fps or 60 or 150. I don't think it's safe to...

Time Travel: What would you do?

My base assumption would be that time perception and reaction times are independent concepts. Time has to do with the propagation of causation and not biology. I understand why biology would influence reaction times, as having a larger and more complex brain lowers "clock speed" just based on...

Time Travel: What would you do?

I've seen a bunch of this research and never been convinced of the equivalence between detecting higher-resolution events and the actual experience of time at a different rate.

You need a pretty massive shade footprint to consistently cover a pool at different times of day at different times of year.

Maybe I'm just old, but the phenomenon of streamers in general is baffling to me. I'm supposed to spend my time listening to some fuckwit doing solo performance art for a camera while playing a game I can play myself? From the clips I've seen, half these guys are high off their minds on...

    Let's build some pools!

Depends if you have kids or not. Mine are fish in the summer and spend basically all of their time diving in and picking toys off the bottom of the deep end. When I swim I like the peaceful feeling of drifting through deep water. Amusingly, even in shallow water I always tuck my legs until it's...

Buddy working on my house right now used to run a demo company. He says +/- $5k for the job, if they quote close to $10k you're getting screwed. Break down the top 18'' of the rim, punch 6'' holes every 4 feet the bottom, throw the debris inside, and fill and compact.

I won't bore you with the napkin math, but a telescope 20 light-years away would need to be 35 million miles across in order to resolve an object six feet long. It gets worse than that very fast if you want to see any detail at that scale or are farther away.
