Sorry to hear this. You're out $500 to $600? lol at 'he doesn't know why.' Does the card have a bios switch? If so, try the other position. Still, I would get this card fixed or returned. EVGA has the best reputation, so that is in your favor. But all of their Warranty claims require that you...

    Car Buying Help

Did Subaru cancel turbo availability in the Forester just to charge more for it in the Ascent? That sucks. Unrelated, I just realized you can get Golf Rs in any color you want now. $2,500. I think it's $4,000 on Audis.

Marriage and the Power of Divorce

My son is now 21 months old. Raising him is great. I haven't damaged him too severely, yet. My wife and I considered what we had, and what we would have to give up. We do well enough on her income, and I wanted the house dad job. I didn't get to spend a lot of time with my father, and I'd...

    Malazan Book Of The Fallen

Oh I agree Night of Knives is still weak writing, but the pacing and story worked for me. It was bikini method--short enough to keep it interesting but long enough to cover the important parts. RoTCG is like all B-Team cast. Has Esselmont ever gotten to write Fiddler?

    Malazan Book Of The Fallen

I don't think Esselmont is as strong a writer as Erikson. Esselmont seems better with fewer pages to fill. I base this off of Night of Knives being a good read and Return of the Crimson Guard being a slog. If I weren't addicted to the lore, I would have put it down without finishing. Has...

    Bioware's "Anthem"

Disliking Far Cry I can understand---after a few hours of stealth attack to raid camps, I quickly lose interest. But Doom (2016)? What's not to like about it?

Should be fairly safe to do as long as the card has a bios switch. Please share the results. I don't think there is a Vega 64 bios that will work on my Red Dragon 56. I must live vicariously.

Everquest Mangler Server - DOING IT ALL AGAIN, AGAIN!

Was it changed in the last few months? The AE DDs did not have target limits the last time I played (Phinny, SoF era).

Everquest Mangler Server - DOING IT ALL AGAIN, AGAIN!

It's a bit different now. Bards get a single target time bomb nuke AA (initial DD, and greater DD with chance to crit after like 18 seconds). They also have a song Denon's which is an AE DD nuke. It burns mana pretty good but you can kill large pulls of non-summoning blue and some yellow cons...

    Tom Clancy's The Division

When I claimed Resident Evil 2, AMD Rewards validated my purchase code and hardware, and about 2 weeks later issued the game redemption code with a link to Steam. It might be possible that, once the purchase code is validated on the PC with the hardware, the game code could be redeemed from any...

I don't know an 860 to compare, but I have a 970 EVO 500 GB--I've never had faster boot, load, or unzip times. I will get another the moment 2gb prices are not prohibitive. Another thing to like about NVME is that it's right on the board (or PCI-E adapter) and no additional wires.

Rumor is that at least some of the 3rd Gen Ryzen will be out in July. This should include a couple CPUs where both the speed and boost are solidly in 4GHz range. One might possibly hit 5GHz stock.

The card is spec'd at 1177MHz (1478MHz with boost). My CPU is a Ryzen 5 2400G at 3.9GHz with APU disabled. Everything is just air cooled. Doom runs at at around 80+ fps 1440p ultra settings no problem, but Vulkan games favor AMD from what I understand. Here is a validated Firestrike comparison...

The Vega 64 is superior, and will do better longer term with 8GB RAM. But it consumes more power and the blower style ones are said to be loud. It can be found new for $400 or less at the moment.
