Vanguard - I don't give a fuck if it's dead, It's still brown as fuck (Download link in 1st post)

Thanks, very helpful guide. Can we start in Qalia as Dark Elves then move to Thestra once we get our mounts? (at level 10?) And what kind of duo would you suggest? I kind of like the DK and I like tanking.

Vanguard - I don't give a fuck if it's dead, It's still brown as fuck (Download link in 1st post)

I did the starting area on 2007 and the Isle of Dawn (few years later) I didn't like the Island AT ALL. Is there an option to start in the starting racial areas? and is it viable? Also, what classes are good for duoing? :P (we prefer Dark Elves btw)

Vanguard - I don't give a fuck if it's dead, It's still brown as fuck (Download link in 1st post)

Unfortunately and thanks to World of Warcraft, to many people that is the definition of MMO. But to me that is the definition of retarded game design. Question: Is questing the only way to go? Is duoing viable? can my partner and I break the "questing" mold and grind XP once in a while...

Final Fantasy XIV (Guide in first post)

I agree EQ music was unique because it didn't sound like a Triple A quality commercial score. Most of the time it was too simple yet complex at the same time. I think the "too" professional orchestrated music scores makes you feel they don't belong in a world of fantasy and because you've heard...

Vanguard - I don't give a fuck if it's dead, It's still brown as fuck (Download link in 1st post)

I guess I'm going back to playing MMORPGs after a long while and Vanguard it's going to be my destiny. I have a shit load of vet rewards also, I remember paying for at least one year (without playing much) for this game :P The hardest part now is... what was my username/password?

    The Elder Scrolls Online

It's going to be First Person view? From the video gameplays I had the notion it was a 3rd person view game with twitchy combat. What you're saying, if true, makes me interested despite the turn offs.

Yeah, if I see the Diablo-Style itemization in an MMORPG again I'm quitting. BIG turn off.

That's why starting areas based on races is important. Heck make every race has a few options to start in. Also, make content for all kind of players. The soloers, the Duo, The Group. Indoor and Outdoor. Easy and Hard. Don't forget other dimensions of game play which everyone actually...

Quests are fine. Quest-Driven philosophy is not because it forces Soloing and even the "Group" quests forces the group to dissolve once the objective is reached. Everyone wants to go back to the city to "turn in" the quest so they can proceed with the next step (that is one stupid game design...

LOL, hilarious! I want to see that implemented in a game, I would buy a game just for this. :P

You're right about the "design document" even the ratio of how many hits a level 1 player can kill a level 1 NPC is almost copied exactly. It's like it became a sacred tabled from heaven that you dare not to change! I think simplified quests are "alright" (EQ had them, collect CB belts for...

Which is still bad. I quit GW 2 the moment I was expected to collect Mushrooms that were "highlighted" for me to pick. I ask a question... WHY? Why do I want to pick 6 mushrooms? Why? Why is 80% of my time is based on very stupid reasons to play. Why should I kill X creatures and...

GPS maps and Quest Indicators should definitely go away. Neon-Signs blinking *QUEST HERE* *QUEST HERE* detracts from feeling you belong in a world. It's not necessary if the game is not "Quest-Driven", kind of make sense if you're playing WoW (and its clones) but if you're playing a "sandbox...

Anything is better than a Quest-Driven MMORPG. But too bad, you'd think EverQuest sequels would play like their predecessor. I know I have an urge to play something 90% like EverQuest Classic. There is a market for that. They could have implemented the Sandbox idea in another IP or a brand...

You'd be a fool if you're not cynical already when it comes to MMORPGs (or life in general but that's beside the point). There's something I cannot grasp about SOE and that's how good they are in destroying their franchise/games. Remember the NGE and that press-release made by Smed trying to...

You're not the only one who thinks so and there are logical reasons explaining "why". People tried to argue with "First kiss", "Nostalgia" and "Rose colored glasses" but I think they're deluded and as I mentioned in an earlier post that there are plenty of mechanics EQ introduced that were...

    1. Same EQ Theme with various races to choose from, not just a few, with their own unique starting areas (Dark Elves, Ogres, Trolls, Humans, Halflings..etc) 2. First Person View (EQ was FPV, how many AAA FPV MMOs we have now?) 3. Slow Paced Combat (More Tactical/Resource Management/Strategic...
