Blitz I took during uber lab cause it definitely requires some decent gear to keep your crit chance high enough. But it doesn't need to be too high; you're gonna be swinging like 20+ times per second with multistrike and only one of those needs to crit to maintain your stacks.

molten shell + iron reflexes + granite/jade flask has been carrying my survivability pretty hardcore

It gives me strength on every node, 15% multi, 30% melee crit, and 10% intimidate. So perhaps slightly less damage overall but I gain about 250 hp and intimidate.

Things die in 1-shot 99% of the time and shaper dies in 2s, I ain't got time to impale. Don't want the crit multi jewel there cause it costs me too much life in strength.

It's actually more than that. I was comparing taking Blitz over Carnage. Without Blitz or Carnage, DPS in my PoB is 1.1m. With Blitz, it's 1.3m. Carnage puts it to 1.6m. So it's like, 2.5x the DPS of blitz. But I would assume the gap will closed a bit due to the flat damage being added to Lacerate.
