Another really good scene. Fucked up that this actor died of an OD right after this. I guess Angus/Fez was just playing himself in a way. I liked the whole thing with him and Lexi because it was one of the few "pure" things on the show. They never really did anything but it was clear they cared...
I burned through probably two thirds of this series this week since I had a few days to kill. Been YEARS since I binge-watched a show. It is quite captivating, and quite short at 16 or so episodes. Found that I couldn't put it down. The only weak part was the two TV specials from 2020 when they...
People keep dinging my car. Spent $6000 on various repairs in the last year to fix things, remove scrapes, and generally get it in tip-top condition to sell. Then I find dents or scrapes with no note. Happened twice in the past month in two different places. Nothing like putting in time and...
Reminds me of the Highlander conventions where the Q&A panels would inevitably break down into overweight middle-aged cat ladies getting on the mic and trying to flirt with the stars of the show.
I actually like that idea of having to re-level on expansion launches. 90% of the population would hate it with a passion after the first or second time though.
Here's a more normal idea than the crazy server ideas: Agnarr 2.0 going up through OoW/DoN. Call it Mata Muram server. There does seem...
What NWN expansions are worth playing? I'd be okay with skipping both of them unless one is super great.
I hope NWN2 is a bit prettier and less rough around the edges. Considering it came out in 2006 (after both KOTORs IIRC) it should be.
Oh my God, after a year I finally have a CRPG Blog to post. Played NWN quite a bit the last couple evenings. I don't know of I'll stick with it or finish the game because it's not the best experience at this point. It's very much a Pre-KOTOR with a medieval setting. Even the HD enhanced edition...
I believe everything was on the same general overhead screen. The character models were essentially .ico files that fit inside a square and moved around the map one space at a time. They'd bump into each other and do attacks / cast / whatever all on the same screen.
Naw this game was like...
I'll probably run NES Exodus at some point, along with Quest of the Avatar. F the Ultima 5/6/7 Nintendo ports though. 5 in particular is basically unplayable.
I remember the free Dragon Warrior promotion with Nintendo Power. I missed out on it (and the whole NES era) and didn't procure a...
I played this circa 1995 or so. Not sure if it was new at that point but I think it was. Also I'm about 90% sure it was some kind of shareware because that was all I had on PC at the time. It might have only included the first of the four levels as a demo.
NO IMAGINATION
Weird servers need to be more of a thing.
A permadeath server where everyone has, essentially, one life, is another crazy idea / recipe for chaos that we'll probably never see.
Just thought that area was kind of interesting because it's easy to miss.
Yeah I think you're right. I replayed that section and looked around more and that door goes into the sector wall, where they presumably had climbed up. So the door isn't a "door to nowhere" so much as just the door they...
Reposted from another thread, maybe someone can figure this one out. IIRC the game had a white background (might have been snowy graphics, might have been a flat white background). You moved around in an overhead tile format, up/down/left/right in single square steps.
Main thing was the giants...
Here's the iconic cover shot of FF7. I noticed something weird though. Near the beginning of chapter 16 in Part 1, there's a long hallway that goes off the main path:
And this hallway ends in a dead end with no treasure, which is already kind of unusual. But also, it has this great big door...
Guy says something interesting at the beginning, that the whole Deep State concept has been kind of poisoned by politics and Trump using it as a catch-all for everyone he doesn't like.
On the reverse end of the spectrum I think a lot of folks on the left have allowed themselves to fall into...
IIRC Xegony and Bristlebane have strong raid games right now but I'm probably wrong. FV is likely the highest-pop regular server. Mischief is likely highest-pop TLP and is currently on... House of Thule, I believe?
Other people can answer all of this better than I can though. In any case I'd...
I wonder how someone becomes so important that they can make decisions over the heads of the federal government and aren't answerable to our elected officials. Presumably there are people above the heads of the FBI and CIA who we don't even know about. How did they get there? Who picked them...
You talking about that couple that lost a few hours and claimed abduction? The Hills, I think. Yeah their story was similar to an Outer Limits episode. Which was also James Cameron's situation when he "had a dream about Terminator". I have no doubt he did dream up a metal skeleton walking out of...
I think Exodus is only on NES. It's a pretty rough port and hard to play. Quest of the Avatar is also on NES and is a fantastic port. They made it more like Dragon Warrior and I've seen people say it's a top 20 game on the system. Finally the NES got Ultima 5 as well but it was a completely...
This is a good example of my main issue with JRPGs, how frequently they expect you to find one thing or talk to one person to progress the story. It's fine if it's some magical macguffin in a nearby dungeon that the story is pointing you at; that's normal. The issue is when you're just trying to...
The modern remake project is objectively way, way, way nicer than the original in pretty much every regard. The only places it falls short are narratively and in the area of capturing moods (like having Midgar slums be so damn bright).
They're just imitating EQ, as they've done so much of, and it was time to imitate the Drakkin.
But yeah, I'm really surprised the Ogres were never added as a playable race. Seemed like they were set up for that from the beginning.
After some more choice paralysis I fired up Neverwinter Nights, now playing some of that. Had two seemingly game-ending glitches (i.e. spots where I got trapped because something didn't happen that was supposed to) and I'm only one dungeon in. Definitely a game where you want to do backup saves...
Don't even remember what buffs there were in the game, just that on the Flask of Wondrous Physick I went with Heal Half HP + Regeneration for pretty much all of the game. Use that as your first heal on a boss fight and enjoy the regen for a while.
Margit seemed so tough the first time through...
I'm gonna watch it too one of these days, mainly for the Latina and Sydney. Not that Sydney looks like Sydney or anything but yeah. Speaking of which, uh
What movie is this from, so I can do research? Please not Euphoria, please not Euphoria
Very possibly, but if so, then Greys have to be one of the biggest mass psychoses in human history. Tens of thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands of people who have claimed to see them or thought they saw them. If every single one of those people were either lying or completely deluded... then...
"Combat focused expansion pack for Baldur's Gate" is good for me, 'cause I liked the combat and wanted some more dungeon crawling out of it.
It being linear is also good for me, can't get lost if the game is all linear.
Got a couple days to kill and decided this morning to fire up a CRPG, only...
Well, if they could figure out how to get rid of Hell Levels back in the day by smoothing out the EXP curve from 1-60, then they should be able to fix something like this... if the will is there.
I've got a similar question: Probably gonna knock them all out soon either way, but are any of Vaniki's raid achievements particularly must-do to have the rewards for the next server? I did everything up through level 55 IIRC and still have most of those claims banked (except the Emperor Ssra...
