False. Windows does NOT default all monitors to the slowest monitor's refresh rate. I have a 144 Hz for my center/gaming monitor and three monitors at 60 Hz.

Fair point. I think I'm going to keep using them for now. The 5ghz band is mainly what I use and I get full bars across my entire yard now. My phone roams really well on them too (though I think that has more to do with the phone tweak I did to make the roaming better than the actual AP's...

I feel you. I've yet to find anything that can rival the speed of my RT-AC87U's wireless. I'm still using my UAP-AC-PROs but may just get another RT-AC87U and use it as another AP. Haven't decided yet.

From everything I've read, the router base-station and the whole system in general is about as simple and uncomplicated as anything that's been released. So unnecessarily complicated probably isn't the right wording. There's a couple reviews out. Hands-on: Ubiquiti’s Amplifi covers the whole...

AC-LITE wouldn't solve the issue really. I can't imagine it having faster speeds than the AC-PRO version. It's not a big issue. I'll find a use for them somehow. Just annoying that an "enterprise" or "prosumer" grade AP wouldn't be able to keep up with the ASUS RT-AC87U, which frankly is a...

Sorta wish I would have gotten that. The UAP-AC-PROs are not what I was hoping they'd be. Entirely my fault for getting before doing enough research on them in the first place.

Cord-Cutting, Or How to Stream your Way to Success

Hmmm, this might be a good place to ask. What is a good, secure way for me to remotely control my HTPC (I'd only control it from computers at my house)? I used to use TeamViewer with LAN Connection only but I got pretty f'n spooked after TeamViewer got raped earlier in the year.

Anyone using an Nvidia Shield for Plex/Netflix/etc? I'm thinking about picking one up, more specifically for Plex but I have a few other uses for it as well. Surprisingly, I've been able to get by just using my Samsung TV's built in app for Plex but it shits out on any "4k" content. Someone...

I bought two of the Ubiquiti UAP-AC-PRO to add some wifi coverage to the house. Pretty fucking amazing how easy it was to set-up but in my testing, the 2.4ghz throughput is horseshit. So I gave my coworker my old ASUS RT-N66U to use while I figure out how to use this Mikrotik RB951G-2HnD. I have it working OK right now, but the max speed I can seem to get out of the wireless averages about 40-50 Mbps when speed testing. Wired connection is fine, just as fast as my ASUS...

If you get a retail license, it is kind of stupid how they have the install setup. You can't use the VL to install, which is the installer which allows you to select what you want to install.
