Well the circumstantial evidence says that Zimmerman stalked the kid, whispered under his breath that bad people always get away (indicating that he's looking for trouble), and he ends up in a fight with his prey finally murdering him after losing in a fight he presumably was looking for.

Well, we can ignore the defendant's testimony and the physical evidence says nothing about how the fight occurred, so that isn't important with respect to what happened to start the fight. Did the eye witness see the start of the fight? Or happen upon the fight part way through?

If Zimmerman laid a hand on the kid after following him, he deserved a punch to the mouth. And that doesn't mean that he can turn around a shoot him in self defence.

I've never seen, or been involved in a fight where someone wanted to, or tried to kill someone else so I wouldn't know how someone thinks when they are fighting for their lives. I've seen plenty of fights that have been all about ego though.
