Tool might eventually release a new album someday

Supposedly those extra digital tracks ("available via the digital release; physical copy includes a digital download card") fit in to the album like this: Digital: 1) Fear Inoculum 2) Pneuma 3) Litanie contre la Peur 4) Invincible 5) Legion Inoculant 6) Descending 7) Culling Voices 8)...

Tool might eventually release a new album someday

Yeah coming straight from the band is even less reason to believe it lol. Track seven is called "7empest"? The segue into it is "Chocolate Chip Trip"? They've gotta be shitting me. That's exactly like some April Fool's Day "new album track list" they would have posted back in the day. If...

Yeah, that draft started with Risen Reed pack 1 pick 1. I'm pretty much a max level beaver merchant when it comes to how often I'll rare snipe for constructed shit when drafting, but even so after seeing both Leyline of Sanctity and Risen Reef in that first pack it was an easy decision to grab...

I thought "Descending" and "Invincible" were fan made names given to the songs temporarily before we learned the real names? I'm suspicious of that list.

hope you guys don't mind my random gibberings while i do these drafts just had a pretty fun Limited combo going -- Risen Reef + Healer of the Glade + Portal of Sanctuary. every turn i get 3 life and either a card in hand or an extra land on the board for just 2 mana? and when my opponent...

then 0-3 with an Azorius deck lol. pack 1 pick 1 was Bishop of Wings, tried to build an angels flyer deck but ended up spreading myself too thin drafting against the bots. edit -- aaaaaand super unlucky 0-3 with a stacked Temur elementals deck. bah.

Mr. Bungle playing shows in 2020

yeah it's common for bands that do these sorts of sets to match their "album" set with a second set of other songs that's roughly equivalent in time to the first set. it's been 20 years, i bet they just go with a generic "greatest hits" style set for the second set, whatever that means for...

if your mind was designed by an AI, then you're using the instincts and logic it gave you in order to deduce that it exists. yet you seem to believe it wants to keep itself a secret. why give you the capability to discover it if it wants you to remain oblivious?

maybe more hot than cold... a mere 4-3 for my next draft after that, got Sorin pack 1 pick 1 and tried to draft vampires. next draft i got a Temple of Malady P1P1 then a Creeping Trailblazer pack 2, ended up kind of forcing Jund (bots weren't super helpful) but it ended up working, went 7-1...

they're really playing The Raging Wrath of the Easter Bunny in it's entirety? trollololol that's so great and awful. of course i'd rather see California, but the pure absurdity of reuniting just to play that uniquely brutal and bizarre demo probably recorded in one of their garages... hah...

Tool might eventually release a new album someday

yeah just about everyone that ever has gone into the recording studio with them ends up commenting on it later, it seems. i remember seeing an interview with Chino Moreno where he was blown away seeing how they charted out their music. if memory serves, he first saw it on the same day that...

Tool might eventually release a new album someday

yeah, Tool might sit down with diagrams and charts to write their songs nowadays (no hyperbole), i doubt they were doing it in the Opiate era, especially since their later methods of mathing out were pretty different than what they did with Opiate. i agree that it was probably "accidental" in...

I'm still going to watch it eventually, I just haven't found the right headspace for it I guess. Even if you took away everything else, it's still a cool show visually, so yeah. But, I mean, I made it through Twin Peaks Returns, I should be able to handle Legion, right? Haha.

Tool might eventually release a new album someday

nah not thematic tritones really, in this instance we're just talking about them going to the bV5 power chord in a riff, not an effect that usually sounds ominous / disturbing in a rock and roll riff context. idk if we can really say that's what they're doing here tho, because between that and...

really surprised it doesn't sound off to you. these sorts of discussions can frustrate me, because even tho i know music theory now, i've had an ear for this stuff since childhood, before i received any music training. it was only later after learning theory that i was able to put words to...

what if it's not rare, but we happen to be first, and that's why we don't see any other intelligent life? someone has to be first. perhaps your feeling that 20,000 years from huts to fission is pretty quick, that would jive with the idea that we could be first.

Tool might eventually release a new album someday

That F5 in the chorus doesn't jive with that. They're real similar modes, I think they just shifted for one or two notes to be "wrong" in the mode of the new section, some sort of pentatonic jam over it probably did sound "right".
