Yes. But it's not like you have to post process every image. The images will come out really good on their own, but you'll have more information (color depth) to tweak the images so that they come out how you want. As an example, here's the World Press photo of the year with and without...

When I saute pineapple to top ice cream, I usually just put it straight into a pan with cinnamon and salt to bring out the juice for a sauce. I'll have to try it with some rum.

    DSLR Camera

With a DSLR the improvement in image quality (over say a point and shoot or your phone's camera) is due to the larger sensor. Larger sensors tend to have larger pixels and therefore less noise in their images. If you want to be able to take high quality pictures, have the option of...

It's pretty hard to use more than 2 gigs of data on a smartphone, imo. You'd have to be streaming music/video on a daily basis to get there, which is affected by how often are you away from wifi. When I had my unlimited plan on Verizon, I tried to top 2 gigs by streaming a lot of video, but I...

    Your Own Photography

If this is your firstDSLR, I'd go with a crop sensor over a full size sensor. Spend the money on lenses once you get familiar with the controls. I shoot on a T2i that I've had for 2 years now. My go to lens is an EF 24mm f/2.8, which translates to a 38.4mm focal length.

Picked this up awhile ago during a Steam sale, but never got around to playing it until this week. Holy shit I've never been so emotionally ripped apart by any media. I don't care if most of the decisions are superficial... Seriously, amazing game, but also fuck it for breaking me down...

Another thing that doesn't get mentioned much, but if you're planning on shooting a lot of video, make sure you get a memory card with fast read/write speeds. You'll want at least a class 6 card for HD recording, but class 10 cards are pretty much everywhere. I totally forgot about this over...

    DSLR Camera

I've never really extensively used my DSLR for video, but if you're concerned about focus noise from your lens, wouldn't it be easier to just get an external mic? Plus, the onboard mic isn't that great anyways. Something like this: http://www.amazon.com/MegaGear-Shotg...canon+dslr+mic I...

Got an iPhone 5 yesterday. Hard to believe that I had my 4 for almost 2 years. It still works well, but the 5 is light years faster. Apps load super quickly and the LTE is faster than my wifi. I upgraded now instead of waiting for the 5S to come out this summer mostly because I'm headed out...

Haven't played the beta, but I'm hoping that there's going to be plenty of depth through their building upgrade system. So rather than building huge sprawling cities, it's just small, but highly customizable cities.

I always take thick meat out of the fridge a little bit before I cook it. Rinse it in cold water, dry it off with paper towels, season with salt and pepper, and then let it sit for 20 min to get closer to room temp and bring the juices out. Slap it on a hot cast iron pan with a little canola and...

I don't really think it's a fix in this case. Yeah, it's terrible that Kristin went home when Josie was clearly the weakest link. But historically, in Restaurant Wars, it's the losing team's leader that goes home. It didn't help that Kristin fell on her sword instead of throwing Josie under the...

It's similar to drip coffee, but the difference is in the control. Temperature, amount of water, and brew time are all in your control. First time I had a pour-over cup was in Seattle, and it was literally the best cup I've had. Like I said before, it's fussy and slow, but the quality is...

I switched 5 years ago to OSX. Before I left for college, I had bought an Alienware laptop that was a piece of shit and was sent out for repair more often than not. ~90 hours in, finally hit 50 and I think I'm done with this game.
