The thing is, there is 1 big dota/lol tournament a year. There are dozens of golf tournaments that pay out tons of money. Plus, how many people in e-sports are winning million dollar tournaments every single year for 5+ years? Almost none.

I guess it partly depends on how much they change the way gem level scales for minions (whether they gain tons of power for high level gems). 2 +1 wands and then throw your minions in a +3 helm and a +1 tabula (or other chest) with lvl 4 empower and you're looking at lvl 29 gem for helm or 27...

Claws, like foils, have a very high tendency to roll elemental damage. I think bows are the same way, although it's been a long, long time since I played a bow char or messed with rolling one.
