If you play mage, you can always spec knight enchanter and go melee stuff with your laser sword. You will learn to hate Cassandra though, as she continually bashes your target out of your range while you are in mid swing.

The distribution is actually where his atk goes in his hits, not the drop check. It's mostly academic for Melchio because they are so similar, but it's more obvious with units like Mariudeth where one of his 3 hits hits MUCH harder than the other two.

Mariudeth is bad for frontier hunter because the scoring is all about quantity, not quality - i.e. number of hits on dead guy, number of sparks, number of weakness hits etc. There's also not very many fire guys, and a lot of earth guys, so ulkina is probably a better choice.
