    Whats rustling your jimmies?

Sometimes I think I need an alarm to wake me up so I can get up off the couch and go to bed.

And yet we have folks in the “what car do you drive” thread saying $300-$500 for an oil change is OK by them.

I used to go down to the tennis courts and hit a few balls back and forth with my wife. Then covid happened and the courts were off limit. My driveway is large and flat enough that I could paint a pickleball court on it. I bought a portable net, and we used the heck out of that court when that...

Yup. Remodeled one bathroom and then the kitchen. I’m getting up there in years so I thought I’d let someone else do the master bathroom. Get a quote for $17k for just the shower. Panels, not tile. No tub, no vanity, no floors, no new fixtures, no paint; just the shower. So now I’m going to do...

The "Shit I just bought" thread

The Coleman I posted is not a dual fuel stove per se. But, truth be told, all Coleman stoves past and present will run on White Gas or Unleaded gasoline. It's just that the older ones like mine are less tolerant of the junk in unleaded gas and will require more frequent cleanings. I saw a used...

The "Shit I just bought" thread

How much you wanna spend to get 100% American? Partner Steel is 100% US made but really, really expensive. Camp Chef makes good stuff that is mostly US made using offshore parts. Or like you say, you could get an older US or Canadian made Coleman gas stove and convert it to propane with this...

I have one of the original ones; don’t know if it’s 1.0 or whatever, but unless it has been improved significantly, I can’t recommend it. I need to be within a foot of a fly that has landed to score a hit that stuns the critter. Nine times out of ten I scare them off with my approach. Around...

We didn’t go for the religious stuff but in the early 80s when my wife and I were looking for something to watch on TV, (we could only pull in 5 or 6 channels) we would pause and watch Jimmy Swaggart because he had one of the tightest gospel/old timey/bluegrass bands around. Good tunes.

The "What song is this?" thread

Gary Owen There’s lots of versions of this tune. It’s the March of the 7th Cavalry so it gets associated with Custer and the Little Big Horn but I think it was originally an Irish Jig brought to America in the early 1800s so I chose that version.

Today is the anniversary of the beginning of the reign of Richard the Third and that reminded me of a movie I watched a couple of weeks ago on Acorn TV called 'The Lost King'. It's about a woman named Philippa Langley and her devotion and work to find the remains of King Richard III. It's a bit...

Personally, I would just go down to the local big box and get a 1/3hp Badger or whatever the house brand is. Maybe 1/2hp, but 1/3 has always worked for us. Don’t spend a ton on a “quiet” model. It’s only on for 10 secs at a time once or twice a day, anyway.

This was really my fault. I was working on a bolt I couldn't see, it was 100 degrees out, I was reaching around a wheel working backwards and had convinced myself I was turning the right direction (I wasn't) and when I couldn't budge it, I went for the cheater pipe.
