As much as I love the Culture books, Banks' best SF novel was The Algebraist. The themes and ideas in that book precede just about all the modern expression of that post-singularity AI thing that it does. Also Vernor Vinge's Rainbows End remains a favorite. Kinda wish he'd knock out a sequel.

Joe Abercrombie's Half A King series is very similar to Prince of Thorns actually. If you liked that trilogy I'd give it a shot. I'd prolly notch Half A King series slightly ahead personally.

The rewards for the PVP world quests tend to be similar to the elite/group PVE quests... which means you can get some pretty solid gear and artifact xp for them. I also saw some PVP-only gear could pop up on for some of those PVP world quests, but I wonder if they can get upgraded like the PVE...

I've actually stepped back from legion beta too. Mostly because I'm outta town and playing on a macbook, but also partly because the World Quests by themselves aren't enough to hold you down when they aren't testing raid wings or your usual mythic+ 5man is playing alts.

You can spend artifact points equivalent to maxing out your current level to reset your current artifact tho. Obviously this is best done early since the artifact xp to level ramps up sharply.
