The stance break was pretty bonkers though. Combined with DMGS charge attack you could chain stance break almost anything

ER was my first From game and I went in 100% blind and never used any spoiler sites. It was hard as hell until you really learned the system/stats etc but the game/world was so amazing that the "you died" screen could not deter me.

Since this has been bumped, I recently found a really well edited movie version of the game for those who'd like to experience the story without grinding through the game again. Only hits the main quests obviously

Plus so many of the bosses are optional, that if a boss type is giving you issues, you can just skip it. There are surprisingly few mandatory bosses considering how big the game is.
