Local place known for their finger steaks that has been closed decided to open up today for curbside pickup and made finger steaks half off. Here's a pic my neighbor posted of it. I guess it was a popular idea. I don't know why finger steaks aren't more popular in the rest of the world.

Coronavirus Updates, Important Information, and Ancedotal Experience

Some people see a pile of cash for the first time and lose their damn minds. When I was in college one of the janitors where I worked won $25K from powerball and immediately quit his job and bought a new car. I was only 19 at the time but even I was like "Dude, you're not rich, after taxes...

    Smartphones

My Pixel 3 is still working really well. The battery life has gone down a bit but other than that it's totally solid. Most of my family uses Moto G's and they are fine except for the camera. The camera is not terrible on them, but my pixel 3 camera just wipes the floor with it.

    NFL 2020 Season: Gravy Edition!

When I lived in the East Bay I used to occasionally see Bubba Paris (O-linemen for the 49ers during 3 of the Joe Montana superbowls) sitting at a folding table at a grocery store by himself signing autographs for $20. It was sad because there was usually no one at the table and he had signs to...

    NFL 2020 Season: Gravy Edition!

Supposedly he lost $75 million of Rhode Island's money and $50 million of his own. He's probably not broke now because he's done some TV stuff since then, but I bet he'll never see that $50M again.

    NFL 2020 Season: Gravy Edition!

My favorite 30 for 30 was "Broke" about athletes that have lost all of their money. I always wondered how they manage to blow through their cash so quickly but after watching that it makes a lot of sense and I really sort of felt bad for them. Of course the biggest loser on that episode was...

Bobcats are pretty useless for digging, especially in hard ground. They put so much weight on the rear end to let them lift more that you can't get any down pressure or the thing just tips over backwards. A mini excavator on the other hand...

    Smokers / Grills

Yeah I think I'd just leave a gap in the countertop for the grill myself. I think all the pellet grills have the option of the remote monitoring now, but sort of like a smart TV, I think if I was buying one I would get it as simple as possible and then get the brains in the thermometer so if...

I have a 36V Makita cordless chainsaw along with Stihl and a Husqvarna gas saws. For little jobs I love the electric one. No need to deal with mixing fuel, clogged carburetors, fouled plugs, changing oil, and everything else that goes wrong with small engines. On top of that it's so much...

The one I remember was when McDonald's cheeseburgers would go on sale for 49 cents. Nothing better as a college student than going to McD's with a 5 dollar bill and leaving with 10 cheeseburgers and a dime.

I'm relatively happy with my brick hearth. Here's the bricks glued to the floor... I failed miserably at grouting them without getting mortar all over the bricks. I actually think they look kind of cool like this, but it's not the look I was going for. So I spent 3 hours grinding the...

    Survivor

On the podcasts everybody says they just sit around and talk about food all the time. Maybe I'm biased because after S1 I didn't really watch again until S15 (China) but I think the survival stuff wears thin pretty quickly. If you want to watch people eating rats check out "Naked and Afraid"...

    Survivor

I think some of them did get lucky, but the way I look at it, the other person lost by pissing off too many people and/or not making enough relationships. If you played hard the whole game and the jury decided someone who did nothing should get the money instead, then you fucked up.
  20. BrutulTM

    Survivor

I don't buy the "bitter jury, didn't deserve to win" thing. The objective of survivor has never been to call the shots or make big moves. It's to stay in the game and get the specific people who are on your jury to vote for you. Whoever won played the best game for that season by definition...

I never thought about it before but drone trucks being driven by a remote human would actually be a big improvement over having drivers in the trucks.
