Elden Ring - From Software + George RR Martin

Why? One of the things I like about going through the game with limitations is having a driver for using new game mechanics I previously ignored to defeat tough bosses. For example I didn't use parry a single time until my new playthrough where I pretty much had to use it to defeat the crucible...

I'd love to see a similar breakdown for how zipping is done. I skipped through and didn't see it in this vid.

This review somehow manages to be unwatchable, serious and satire at the same time. Impressive!

Elden Ring - From Software + George RR Martin

What I love about those vids is that any given melee build can basically do what he did. You don't need some dumbass hoarfrost or parry + glintblade phalanx or whatever. It's just pure dodgeroll/parry + counterattack. A non-parry kill of some bosses would be more impressive, but whatever. In...

Love the speed runs. Zipping by turning down resolution and blocking is A+++. Lvl1 Wretch naked fights with a club against bosses is way more impressive though. ONGBAL is perfection.

Nah. At its core DS games are repetitive. Meet new mob, memorize its moves, learn how to juke them and then move onto the next challenge. It's a fun loop but got tiresome for me after 3 games. ER breaks this up with other gameplay loops and repeating mobs throughout so you can re-use the...

Elden Ring - From Software + George RR Martin

This is what made me stop playing DS3. I beat some boss in the middle of the game after a few tries and opened up some new shithole zone and just totally lost interest in slowly muddling my way through another grueling zone with new enemies to learn, new traps etc. It wasn't even hard, it just...

Plus the repeated dungeon biomes and mobs/bosses are a nice break. When you just finish a legacy dungeon like Stormveil and find a catacomb you get some relief because you're familiar with the enemies and familiar with the layout enough to make it a nice palette cleanser.

Yeah I don't think I lock onto the birds at all. Anything bigger than a crucible knight and I'd rather just use the joystick/mouse to control my movement/camera.

Hmm, maybe. The camera is fine with the PC mod I use though. Increase FOV, ultra widescreen and no motion-driven camera adjustments.

I don't know what it is that I hate so much about fighting death birds. I think it's just the sheer embarrassment of getting pecked by a black Tweety.

I hope the first dlc has a bunch of nut buster bosses.

+1 vote for waiting for a respec. A lot of people are rerolling constantly and it's a mistake. The game is really massive and you'd be better off hitting that ~100 hour mark having respecced a few times than doing Limgrave and the Lake a bunch of times.

Pure conjecture: there was some bug or other issue that prevented it.

I don't think they care that much about PvE balance in coop. Once you introduce another player (or even summon) you're playing such a different game already.

No horses in coop felt like a temporary thing to me. The justification is for PvP balance, but they could also just dismount the player if they are invaded.

bah, they nerfed the bowling bowl against https://eldenring.wiki.fextralife.com/Moongrum+Carian+Knight . You used to be able to drag him out into the ball. I thought his only purpose was for the player to squish him with the ball and now he is parrying all my shit. I need to invest in a whip or...

Elden Ring - From Software + George RR Martin

I use buckler parrying against crucible knights. It increases how much time it takes to learn a boss because you have to learn their moves and then choose between dodge / parry for each attack. Executing it is satisfying in its own way, but I find it more fun to use dodge's i-frames and...

You're on PS5 but I really enjoy the camera mod. https://www.nexusmods.com/eldenring/mods/118 Makes playing with a mouse + gamepad so much nicer.

    Everquest - Live Servers

It's fine. EQ has settled into a paradigm where they release an expansion every year. Every other year that expansion increases the level cap. From what I can tell, they have to spend so much effort increasing the level cap that there isn't much content in the expansions and they apparently tune...

Elden Ring - From Software + George RR Martin

Yeah I kind of agree. Even with easy rune farming it's still an investment to get a new weapon to your current one even in mid-game. There are ways to do that easily in PC, but not a mod that does it in an integrated kind of way like you're thinking. Easiest way would be to reduce the rune cost...

Don't worry bud, I'm not on a pedestal here. I did my first playthrough riding on the back of my mimic ash summon using broken ass builds that have since been nerfed. There's no shame here.

ditch the summons, if you're using them. Then if it's still too easy, ditch the talismans/physik. I wouldn't stop leveling.

Elden Ring - From Software + George RR Martin

Yeah that's the issue with PK-driven PvP like invasions. The PKs are strategized around PvP which is a huge advantage with or without cheating. It'd be interesting if some of the "invasion" events were replaced with someone else on that step of the quest. Such that if it's the first time you...

Taunter's Tongue? I'm running modded PC so no online play. Taunter's Tongue doesn't impact gameplay during bosses, right? So it mostly makes the non-difficult parts more spontaneously difficult, which is cool. If I wasn't running mods I'd probably use it.
