Actually really enjoying it. It was initially slow as shit but when you experiment with the other weapons and talents it really opens up. The combat is much better than I thought it would be. I think the chaos of a freshly opened server with pvp enabled would be a lot of fun.

You lost me at this part. It's extremely easy to get one-shot in M+. Those Classic encounters barely had any mechanics. The raids were also largely a joke by comparison. Players are WAY better now at the seriously raiding/M+'ing level than they were back then(for better or worse).

The way Ion answered that faction pop imbalance question leads me to believe we will be getting merc mode for pve in the near future.

I think it's likely also a matter of flexibility. Delivering content on a weekly basis at the scale that they do things could be rife with issues that wouldn't allow them a lot of lead time.

I don't think player housing is what killed Wildstar. I think that was actually one of the more lauded features, as it was super customizable. I personally didn't care for how it played no role in the economy though. It was purely for the dress up aspects.

Given how well pvp gearing has worked out in this expac, I actually wouldn't be surprised to see them go to a currency system for items or make it so that it's even easier to power shit up through the current currencies.
