Yes, plats on Pixel Remasters 1-4. Just started 5, looking forward to a revisit to the job system in a better fleshed out overall character paradigm. I also have never played this one so yay!
I'm playing each of these with no boost until the end, so it's taking a bit longer than your posted...
Ah yes, see I'm glad I asked. Of course I'm aware of all of this, that's why I qualified my statement with "George Lucas" and "nostalgia" rather than use a much more generic unclear statement.
In fact that's exactly why I compared it to George Lucas specifically, because in the wake of his...
What the fucking fuck, they changed the Spoon to a Knife? These remaster fuckwads!
These games are great overall, but the George Lucas style artistic license shit is rustling my nostalgia quite a bit.
I’m also rustled that the Scan spell appears to not work on bosses anymore. I can get the “Bestiary” item to work, but never the white magic spell. I always loved opening boss fights with that spell.
Im not even talking about player spells, I mean when enemies poison me. My whole team was poisoned at one time early in the game and I was panicked worrying about getting antidotes out before people died… but it did exactly nothing. Did not have any effect at all until back on the overworld...
Finished plats on 2 and 3, working on 4 now. 3 was definitely longer and more involved than the prior two, and overall I enjoyed it a bunch. Shame most of the jobs aren’t really useful.
On 4, is it just me or does poison do nothing in battle anymore? It used to erode your hp gradually like the...
The story/lore of the 2nd one was for sure a big reason why I was much less impressed with it compared to the first, and why I was going to be very unlikely to follow the series beyond it. The woke shit just makes that decision a ton easier.
For sure so far in my playthrough (about 75% finished probably), there isn't really anything memorable, and plenty annoying about it. It feels very "B team."
The passwords are kinda cool I guess? For slightly interactive conversations.
Yours is a special kind of autism, but I do enjoy reading your posts.
I'm a couple hours into FF2 after the plat for FF1. I've never played 2, 3, or 5, and I'm going in order so it'll be awhile until I'm back to something familiar. FF2 is pretty damn weird honestly... not sure I like the...
Yeah I was doing the math on that. Take off the ~20% for the legal team, and there would have to be fewer than ~3mil complainants for it to reach the worth-my-time bar ($200 payout).
Endgame's main problem was Captain Cunty. Her flying through the ship and destroying it like it's paper was just fucking stupid. DXM solution to a serious issue, followed by an equally DXM solution to her being too powerful (punch her out of the movie!).
Fucking hate that character.
Yeah subtle changes like you mention “Innefective!” are HUGE for FF1.
I also haven’t played it since I was 12 or so. Any tips on useful spells outside the obvious damage and buffs? Things like Hold, Slow, etc have any niche usage?
Same, and at this point rather than be excited to see my fav char ever (Thrawn) come to the screen finally, I’m just worried they’ll fuck it up as usual. Zero expectations.
I’ll be over here re-listening to the Thrawn trilogy.
Season 3 is one long shark jump. The show is powerful stupid. That so many are loving it must speak to the deep desire of Star Wars nerds for content. This is the best they can do, but it’s still fucking garbage.
The no cops thing was something that came to mind while watching it. The only cop I recall in the entire series is the one in John's neighborhood from the 1st and 2nd movies.
By the 4th movie he's slaughtering people on the roundabout at the Arc De Triumph for 5 minutes and no cops show up at...
Crazy. I guess it didn't register back then, and it's registering now because it reminds me of Kekistan, perhaps? That and in the past 10 years or so "istan" has become a bit of a meme suffix in general.
