The no-training rule is horseshit. Training is an integral part of the EQ experience.

Aradune has GM enforcement, but they all act clandestinely because, like just about everything DPG does, their policy is self-defeating. An extremely visible GM presence would be very effective. Bannings and suspensions should be made public on the forums. Hell if I had my way if you get banned...

Yeah I agree with this. I think people played casual AF in 99/00 but not because they willfully chose it, they just didn't know any better. I sure didn't. Now even casual-joe is expecting to hit 50 and start farming BiS gear.

I gave up trying to level in areas with loot that is of interest to level 50s pretty quickly on. It's just the natural order of things on a competitive server where valuable loot is scattered in areas that sub-50s can get to. It's kind of refreshing vs the modern paradigm of get useless garbage...

Deathless runs in EQ kinda need other stuff to have meaning. You really need to do it like zaide is where he is soloing, self found and also going into dungeons. Without those three things it's trivial.

I can't speak to raids where MotM is present but I'm leveling a dru/mag combo and mages are powerful as fuck at low levels. I just got bolt of flame and am just blowing up mobs.

They don't. Frankly it's more important that the game is made more difficult than made more balanced. The losers making rogues in classic can eat the poop they asked for, but people rolling mages on classic and then asking for more power are silly.

I can't speak to kunark/velious but casters(and monks...) are overpowered in classic because they aren't gear dependent while everyone else is and gear blows. Giving them a boost by enabling focus so that gear is useful would be silly. I'd love to see a rebalancing done on early TLP to make...
