I think they lowered it in a kneejerk reaction to whatever was going on.
I also agree on gamers putting up with this shit. I see people complaining about "wasting all night waiting on a queue" and I'm thinking, just go do something else for another week or something, or log on and play early...
4000 people piling into a server isn't really evidence that EQ1 remastered would be successful.
I do think me and a few other solid devs + artists could remake an impressive EQ1 in unreal and be compatible with p99 servers though. I'd rather make robots.
I'd recommend using GINA triggers instead of a butt stuff window. I've developed my GINA triggers quite a bit since this video was captured pre-Aradune but it's basically the same. I've got bars for all the buffs I care about on the left.
For sure, but I've found that when I'm charming higher than my level the average time duration is several times more than what it'd be if there was a 5% chance to break per tick. My first time through though, and I haven't been charming reds. I was getting carried all day with Torklar in Unrest...
This is probably old news that everybody knows, but I recently discovered that EQ devs might think charm is WAY more risky than it is. A couple years ago niente "clarified" how charisma impacts charm:

This is...
Does /clearchat fix it?
I've always wondered how EQ doesn't just get destroyed by lag from combat spam. The combat spam in live raids is just, immense. And I don't trust EQ to handle large amounts of text well.
There's definitely something missing in the experience in playing now vs the first week of release, but it's not that big of a deal really. So many people put off playing Aradune for the first couple weeks that there are plenty of people to group with.
From the current state of Aradune, do...
At this point me and my old man are talking about whether we want to only play super early in the morning before work, I've been putting off playing because of how bad this is but I don't know if it's going to get better, lol
Not seeing a lot of familiar names in the That's EQ Baby discord. Who at FoH is in there that can vouch for my level 20 ass so I can get some guild chat to relieve me of my loneliness?
I remember liking the game and some of the concepts but put it down when I got to mid-level and everything was stupid easy to where I did the last few zones naked. Wouldn't mind a replay if they solve that.
Could be they're messing with stuff or increased the queue sizes, but I think this is the result of the population not hanging out AFK all the time. Now most players are active and the servers can't cut it.
Thanks. That's EQ Baby requires level 40+ to apply, been avoiding Aradune while the queues were high so I'm still level 19. Won't take long to get to 40 though.

can't even blame the lack of lidar on this one. Radar should have been SCREAMING during this entire drive in.
With how easy it is to level it seems like it'd be pretty easy to play alts, especially if you picked one of a few classes that can effectively power-level and are willing to multi-box in some way. I'm pretty happy with enc/cle and don't plan on leveling an alt in classic but I can see myself...
Probably rose-tinted glasses but it felt like back in 1999 you'd be in a zone for days or weeks, getting to become an expert at the zone and knew everyone who was a regular there. Now you pop into a decent group in a zone, blow up every mob near you and before you even get a feel for the mob...
Got to 15 in two good play sessions so far inbetween queues and RL, having a ton of fun.
Me (enc/cle) and my dad (nec) can breeze through the content easily enough in our trash-gear and getting random PUGs brings some spontaneity to it. We got in with a trio of really terrible players earlier...
